The play-off match for the 2025-2026 V-League between SHB Da Nang FC and Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc FC will take place at 6 PM today (June 27) at Thong Nhat Stadium.
SHB Da Nang FC is ranked 13th out of 14 teams in the V-League 2024-2025. The team from the Han River only earned 25 points after 26 matches, scoring 24 goals and conceding 42 goals.
Meanwhile, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club finished as runner-up in the 2024-2025 First Division League with 44 points after 20 matches, scoring 30 goals and conceding 13.
According to the regulations, V-League teams are not allowed to use foreign players when playing against teams in the First Division. Therefore, SHB Da Nang FC will only field 100% Vietnamese players when they face Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc FC.
This presents both a challenge and an advantage for SHB Da Nang FC. Because in most of the 2024-2025 V-League season, the team will primarily use foreign players.
However, in the final stages of the season, coach Le Duc Tuan only used 1-2 foreign players, and sometimes didn't use any at all. The reason was that the foreign players were not of good quality, and sometimes suffered injuries or received suspensions.
Just like in their last match, a 2-1 comeback victory against Song Lam Nghe An FC in the V-League 2024-2025, SHB Da Nang FC only registered and used one foreign player: center-back Cassio Scheid.
Meanwhile, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc FC is already very familiar with playing without foreign players. Coach Huynh Quoc Anh's squad is also not inferior to his counterpart Le Duc Tuan's, with nearly a dozen players who have experience competing in the V-League such as Cong Phuong, Sam Ngoc Duc, Huynh Tan Sinh, Tan Truong...
Therefore, speaking before the match, coach Le Duc Tuan stated that the chances of winning were evenly distributed between the two teams. The team that capitalized on their opportunities better would win.
Due to the importance of the match, the tournament organizers invited two foreign referees to officiate and applied VAR (video assistant referee) technology.
Specifically, referees Razlan Joffri Bin Ali and Muhammad Usaid Bin Jamal (both from Malaysia) will be the main referee and the other will operate the VAR room.
No tickets for the play-off match will be sold.
The match organizers issued free tickets for fans and supporters of both teams. Supporters of Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc FC were seated in section A4, while SHB Da Nang FC was in section A5. The remaining VIP, A1, A2, and A3 sections were allocated complimentary tickets.
