On May 27, information from Ninh Hoa Town Police said that at about 11:30 a.m. on May 27, at Ninh Hoa Traffic Station (under the Traffic Police Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police), a traffic accident occurred, killing a traffic police officer.
The traffic police officer who was hit while on duty at the traffic police station in Ninh Hoa town was Lieutenant Colonel PTAP (40 years old).
According to initial information, at about 11:30 a.m. on May 27, Cao Nhat Truong (22 years old, residing in Van Phu commune, Van Ninh district) drove a motorbike with a Khanh Hoa province license plate on National Highway 1 in the North-South direction.
When approaching the Ninh An Traffic Police Station, Truong lost control of his speed and crashed into Lieutenant Colonel P. who was on duty. The crash left P. seriously injured.
Lieutenant Colonel P. was immediately taken to Ninh Hoa Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment with a traumatic brain injury.
At 11:55 a.m. the same day, Lieutenant Colonel P. was transferred to Khanh Hoa General Hospital. However, due to severe injuries, he died that same afternoon.
After the strong collision with the traffic police, Truong was also injured and is currently being treated, monitored and detained. The results of the rapid alcohol and drug tests were negative.
