A medical group implements electronic medical records across the system.

All hospitals and clinics of Hoan My Medical Group will officially deploy electronic medical records, contributing to the implementation of the digital transformation strategy of the Vietnamese healthcare sector.

On July 10, Hoan My Medical Group held a ceremony to announce the Electronic Medical Record System, officially deployed across all hospitals and clinics in the system, responding to the Ministry of Health 's strategic direction on digital transformation.

At the ceremony, MSc. Nguyen Ba Hung, Head of Digital Transformation Department, National Health Information Center (Ministry of Health) commented that deploying electronic medical records helps improve management efficiency and connect interdisciplinary treatment. This is also a strategic step towards a smart hospital model.

Observing the process of entering electronic medical records at Hoan My Cuu Long Hospital

According to Ms. Huynh Bich Lien, General Director of Hoan My Medical Group, since 2022, Hoan My has implemented the electronic medical record project according to the roadmap. In particular, Hoan My Cuu Long Hospital is the first hospital of the Group to be recognized by the Department of Science, Technology and Training, National Center for Health Information (Ministry of Health) as meeting the standards of the Electronic Medical Record System.

Electronic medical records are built in a comprehensive and interconnected manner: from storing medical examination and treatment history, test results, diagnostic images to prescriptions, treatment plans and clinical notes.

"Patient information is kept confidential to a high standard and can be retrieved quickly to help doctors grasp a complete medical history, shorten examination time, support accurate diagnosis, timely treatment and effective interdisciplinary coordination," said Ms. Huynh Bich Lien.

Electronic medical records are one of the key contents in the digital transformation roadmap of the healthcare sector for the period 2023-2025, with a vision to 2030. According to Circular 13/2025/TT-BYT and Official Dispatch 365/TTYQG-GPQLCL, the Ministry of Health requires medical examination and treatment facilities to complete the conversion to Electronic Medical Records before September 30, 2025.
