The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a bulletin forecasting heavy rain in the area from Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh and a 10-day weather forecast from the night of October 14 to October 24.

Accordingly, today (October 14th), the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Nam will experience heavy to very heavy rain; rainfall amounts from 7 am to 2 pm on October 14th exceeded 100mm in some places, such as: Cuong Gian (Ha Tinh) 124.0mm, Bach Ma (Thua Thien Hue) 186.0mm, Hoa Son (Da Nang) 148.2mm, Dai Hiep (Quang Nam) 156.2mm,…

Forecasts indicate that from the afternoon of October 14th to October 16th, the area from Quang Binh to Binh Dinh will experience heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall amounts generally ranging from 150-250mm, and in some places exceeding 400mm. Specifically, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Nam will receive 300-500mm, with some areas exceeding 800mm. Ha Tinh will experience moderate to heavy rain with rainfall amounts generally ranging from 50-100mm, and in some places exceeding 150mm.

Additionally, in the southern areas of Nghe An, Kon Tum, and Gia Lai, there will be moderate to heavy rain with rainfall amounts of 30-60mm, and in some places over 80mm; in the South Central region, other areas of the Central Highlands, and Southern Vietnam, there will be showers and thunderstorms, with localized moderate to heavy rain with rainfall amounts of 20-40mm, and in some places over 70mm (thunderstorms will mainly occur in the afternoon and evening).

The meteorological agency warns that from the night of October 16th to 17th, rain is expected to spread northward; the area from southern Nghe An to Binh Dinh will experience heavy rainfall of 100-300mm, with some areas exceeding 500mm. After October 17th, heavy rain in Central Vietnam will continue and its development will be complex. Risks of natural disasters due to heavy rain, storms, and lightning: Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang: level 4; Quang Nam: level 3; Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Quang Ngai: level 2; Ha Tinh and Binh Dinh: level 1.

Due to the impact of heavy rain, there is a risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas, and flooding of rice paddies and other crops in low-lying areas; be prepared for heavy rainfall in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.

Northern Vietnam and Thanh Hoa province will experience scattered rain.

The area from Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh will experience moderate to heavy rain, with some places experiencing very heavy rain and thunderstorms, while the area from Thua Thien Hue to Quang Nam will have very heavy rain.

In southern Nghe An, Kon Tum, and Gia Lai provinces, there will be moderate rain, with some areas experiencing heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms.

In other areas, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, with some areas experiencing heavy rain.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

In Northern Vietnam, from October 18-21, there is a possibility of showers and thunderstorms, with localized moderate to heavy rain. The nights and mornings will be cold.

Central Vietnam: From the night of October 16th to 18th, Northern and Central Vietnam will experience moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain and thunderstorms. From October 19th onwards, there will be showers and thunderstorms, with localized moderate to heavy rain, especially in the northern part on October 19th and 20th, with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Southern Central Vietnam will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening from the night of October 16th to 18th, with localized moderate to heavy rain.

In the Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in the late afternoon and evening, with showers and scattered thunderstorms particularly from October 16-18; locally, moderate to heavy rain is possible.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.
