On December 14, Russia placed Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's military intelligence agency (GUR), on its wanted list, accusing the GUR of carrying out attacks inside Russian territory.

Russia has placed the head of Ukraine's military intelligence agency on its wanted list.

Accordingly, Moscow has placed Budanov, 37, on the Russian Interior Ministry 's list of individuals wanted for criminal offenses. Russia accuses Budanov of orchestrating the 2022 attack that destroyed part of the bridge connecting Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Moscow.

Late last month, Ukraine publicly questioned whether Russia had poisoned Budanov's wife, Marianna Budanova, an advisor to Kyiv's mayor, Vitali Klitschko. However, the Kremlin denied the accusation.

Regarding developments in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Moscow announced on the same day that Russian air defense systems had shot down nine Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) heading towards the capital, just hours before President Vladimir Putin's highly anticipated press conference.

Meanwhile, Kyiv announced that Ukrainian air defense systems shot down dozens of Iranian-made UAVs deployed by Russian forces targeting the southern city of Odessa, in the latest overnight attack by Moscow.
