Located 8km northeast of Quy Nhon city, Thi Nai Lagoon is the largest lagoon in Binh Dinh province, boasting a rich ecosystem. A highlight of Thi Nai Lagoon is its vast, verdant mangrove forests and the numerous canals that branch out in all directions. Visitors here feel as if they have wandered into a pristine and fascinating land of rivers, sky, and clouds.

In the lagoon, near the western shore, there is a small mountain. On it stands a small shrine built by fishermen to worship the water god. The mountain's shape resembles an ancient tower, known as the Soothsayer's Tower . As dawn breaks, fishing boats begin to cast their nets on the lagoon amidst the thick, misty fog, creating a scene as beautiful as a fairy tale.

Historically, Thi Nai Lagoon served as a naval base for the Tay Son dynasty, where fierce naval battles took place between the Tay Son rebels and Nguyen Anh's forces in the early 19th century (1801).

Located east of Thi Nai Lagoon, acting as a giant screen protecting Quy Nhon city from the sea, is Phuong Mai Peninsula, with its system of towering rocky mountains and enormous sand dunes extending about 15km into the sea.

Recently, Thi Nai Lagoon was chosen as the venue for the first-ever international Formula 1 H2O jet ski competition to be held in Vietnam in 2024.
