The first working day of the 20th Congress of Nghe An Provincial Trade Union, term 2025-2030

On the afternoon of December 7, at the Nghe An Provincial Labor Culture House, the first working day of the 20th Congress of Nghe An Provincial Trade Union, term 2025-2030, took place. The congress was attended by 300 outstanding delegates, representing the will and aspirations of more than 150,000 union members and workers in the whole province.

Also attending the congress were representatives of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province and comrades from the Provincial Party Committee's Party Building Committees.

The Congress took place in the context of the entire political system promoting comprehensive innovation, operating a two-level local government model - a breakthrough in the organization of the state apparatus, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of management, serving the people better, creating conditions to promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.

The 20th Congress of Nghe An Provincial Trade Union, term 2025-2030 is a very important political event, a great festival of the working class in the whole province. Not only summarizing the past journey, the Congress also opens a strong turning point, a great orientation on the development journey of the Provincial Trade Union organization. From there, contributing to making Nghe An become a fairly developed province of the country, a national growth pole, contributing worthily to the prosperous development of the country in the new era.

At the first session, the Congress carried out many important contents: Electing the Congress Presidium, Congress Secretary and the Delegate Qualification Examination Board; Approving the Congress working program and regulations; Voting to approve the report on the results of the Delegate Qualification Examination.

At the second session, the Congress listened to a summary report on the results of the activities of the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union for the 2023-2028 term. In the 2023-2025 period, despite changes in the organizational structure, all levels of the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union focused on innovation in directing, operating and organizing the basic successful implementation of the targets and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 19th Nghe An Provincial Trade Union Congress.

Regarding the annual targets, Nghe An Trade Union has 10/14 targets achieved and exceeded, 4/14 targets nearly achieved. Regarding the targets for the entire term, 10/15 targets were achieved and exceeded, 5/15 targets were not achieved and not implemented. At least 40% of collective labor agreements are grade A; Complete the construction of at least 1 Trade Union institution; Build at least 2 public works for union members in remote areas.

At the same time, the function of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers has been effectively implemented; propaganda and mobilization work has seen many innovations. The work of caring for union members and workers has received real attention and implementation with many outstanding activities; patriotic emulation movements in all fields continue to be promoted effectively and have widespread influence.

During the past term, the work of building a strong Trade Union organization, participating in Party building and government building was focused on; Women's work had many practical and effective contents. In addition, financial work and financial management and trade union assets were strengthened; inspection and supervision work was focused on; foreign affairs work continued to be promoted; leadership and direction methods were regularly innovated to meet the requirements of tasks in the current period.

The Congress also listened to the review report of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor, term XIX, 2023 - 2028; approved the Personnel Plan of the Executive Committee, term XX; approved the Delegate Plan to attend the 14th Congress of Vietnam Trade Union, term 2026 - 2031.

The Congress recorded many quality presentations revolving around key contents on improving the effectiveness of trade union work and implementing three breakthroughs in the new term.

Also at the second working session, the congress divided into groups to discuss the Personnel Plan, the draft contents of the Congress documents and conducted the election of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation, term XX, and the election of the Delegation to attend the 14th Congress of Vietnam Trade Union, term 2026 - 2031.

The official session of the 20th Congress of Nghe An Provincial Trade Union - term 2025-2030 will take place tomorrow morning (December 8) with the participation of 300 delegates and invited guests.
