(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Independence Day is always a special occasion for ethnic minorities in the border commune of Na Meo. This year, the joy is multiplied when the people receive special gifts from the Party and the State.

People of Na Meo commune received gifts from officials.

Present at the Suoi Hoc village cultural house, Mr. Pham Van Quan emotionally shared: "My family has 6 members. With the money the State gives us on this Independence Day, we will organize a meal for family members to gather and sit around the dinner table on the great national holiday!"

Sharing the same joy, Mr. Vi Van Hoa, a poor household in Na Meo village, carefully folded the money he had just received and clipped it into his child's report card. He said that his family has 7 members and this 700,000 VND will be prioritized for his children's first-year education.

“National Day is not only for us to remember the Party and Uncle Ho, but also to remind our children to try hard to study and escape poverty,” said Mr. Hoa.

Many people from Na Meo border commune were present at the village cultural house to wait for special gifts from the Party and State.

As for Mr. Lo Van Duan, after receiving the gifts for his family members, he cherished the money he received as a treasure. He decided to keep it as a souvenir.

“In the future, I want to tell my children and grandchildren about National Day in 2025, the 80th anniversary of the country’s founding. That will be a testament to the Party and State’s affection for the people in the border areas!”, Mr. Duan confided.

Busy with directing work, Mr. Luong Van Thuy, Chairman of Na Meo Commune People's Committee, could not hide his joy, saying: Implementing the State's policy on giving Independence Day gifts to people, with more than 4 thousand people, Na Meo Commune mobilized all cadres, civil servants, public employees and police forces, divided into 10 groups to go to villages in the area to give gifts to people.

“We consider this a political task, as well as the sentiment that the Party and State send to the people. Therefore, every stage of implementation is carefully and scientifically calculated, so that everyone can soon receive gifts in the most joyful atmosphere of the great holiday,” said Mr. Thuy.

Mrs. Lo Thi Ynh, 85 years old, Xop Huoi village, waiting to receive Independence Day gifts from the State.

The images of commune cadres, police, and youth union members crossing steep roads and deep streams to each village to deliver gifts from the Party and the State moved everyone. Many elderly people shook hands with the cadres and tearfully expressed their thanks. The bond between the army and the people seemed to grow stronger, making Independence Day a common joy for the whole community.

Mr. Vi Van Tinh, Na Meo village, was moved to receive the Independence Day gift.

On the big festival day, from the elderly to the children, everyone was radiant with joy. The village was bustling with laughter and singing. The sports activities and folk games that the villages and communes have been organizing these days are even more exciting.

"The gift to the people of Na Meo commune is a great encouragement, affirming that the country's border is always cared for by the Party and State," emphasized Mr. Luong Van Thuy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Na Meo commune.
