Former President Nguyen Xuan Phuc: "Quang Nam must regain development momentum, not fall behind"

(QNO) - This afternoon, January 25th, the leaders of Quang Nam province met with and extended New Year greetings to former Party and State leaders who are natives of Quang Nam and former provincial leaders from 1997 to the present, on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Party (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024) and the Year of the Dragon 2024.

Comrades Nguyen Xuan Phuc - former Politburo member, former President; Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh - former Central Committee member, former Vice President; Nguyen Duc Hat - former Central Committee member, former Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Organization Department; Vu Ngoc Hoang - former Central Committee member, former Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Propaganda Department; Ha Ban - former Central Committee member, former Deputy Head of the Central Organization Department; Phan Viet Cuong - Central Committee member, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of Quang Nam; and former leaders of Quang Nam province from 1997 to the present attended.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Van Dung delivered a speech expressing profound gratitude to the former leaders of the Party, State, and province for their continuous attention, support, and contributions of effort and intellect to the development of Quang Nam province since its re-establishment.

The report also provides an overview of the socio-economic development, Party building, national defense, and security results of Quang Nam in 2023; and the key tasks for 2024.

On this occasion, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Le Van Dung, also provided specific information about the shortcomings and weaknesses identified in the conclusions of the Central Inspection Committee in the past period; and affirmed that the collective of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee will seriously overcome these shortcomings, quickly stabilize the team, and unite in determination to strive to build the province in the coming time.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Comrade Le Van Dung expressed his hope to continue receiving the attention, support, and assistance from the Central Government, former Party and State leaders, and former provincial leaders so that Quang Nam can develop further.

Speaking at the meeting, comrades Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, and Vu Ngoc Hoang all expressed their joy at the great achievements that Quang Nam has made since the province's re-establishment; shared their understanding of the difficulties and challenges the province is facing; and expressed their confidence in Quang Nam's breakthrough and progress in the future.

Former Politburo member and former President expressed his emotion upon meeting again with comrades who had worked with him in the early days of Quang Nam's re-establishment as a province. According to Comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc, in the face of the province's current difficulties, Quang Nam needs to strongly promote its tradition of unity and aspiration for development for a prosperous Quang Nam, for the revolutionary cause of the people, and for the heroic homeland of Quang Nam.

“Quang Nam needs to regain its momentum and not fall behind, with the decisive, dynamic, and highly determined involvement of Party committees, government agencies, and all sectors of the population. Provincial leaders should continue to research and strive for progress, developing appropriate strategies and approaches, and improving the quality of human resources. Quang Nam must become a model for development in areas where it has strengths, such as processing, manufacturing, and supporting industries…”

"The most important issue is to revitalize the team, stabilize morale, promote innovation, dare to think and act for the common good; to be resolute in matters of protecting forests, land, and culture, caring for the people, and protecting the legitimate rights of the people," former President Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized.

Thanking Comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc and former members of the Central Committee of the Party, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet pledged that the Provincial Party Committee will make every effort to leverage internal strengths, overcome difficulties, and equip itself with new driving forces and aspirations for development.

The Provincial Party Committee is determined to build unity and consensus, focusing on key strategic long-term development goals.
