In carrying out compensation and land clearance work for the Western section of the North-South Expressway project from Gia Nghia ( Dak Nong ) to Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc), the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc ward commended and awarded certificates of merit to 4 households and 2 individuals with large land areas who promptly handed over the land. This action demonstrates the high determination of the entire local political system in accelerating the project's progress.
The Western section of the North-South Expressway project, specifically the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh segment, has a total length of 101.22 km and requires the acquisition of over 940 hectares of land. The section passing through Binh Phuoc ward alone is 13.823 km long, covering an area of 126.35 hectares and involving 931 land parcels, of which 864 belong to organizations, households, and individuals.
To expedite the land clearance process, on September 23, 2025, the Party Committee of Binh Phuoc Ward issued Decision 21 establishing the Steering Committee for Compensation and Land Clearance, assigning specific tasks. Immediately afterwards, on September 25-26, 2025, the People's Committee of the ward coordinated with the Dong Xoai Branch of the Land Development Center to hold meetings to encourage households to hand over land for 83 plots.
Thanks to decisive action and close-knit propaganda and mobilization efforts, to date, 25 households in Binh Phuoc ward have agreed to hand over their land early, covering an area of 147,265 m2 and a length of approximately 2 km. The People's Committee of Binh Phuoc ward has issued 864 out of 864 land acquisition notices, achieving 100%.

The households and individuals who handed over their land early for the project are exemplary role models, prioritizing the common good over personal interests, creating a great impetus for land clearance work. Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc Ward, Ngo Hong Khang, praised and acknowledged this pioneering spirit, emphasizing: "We hope that through this, the spirit of consensus in handing over land early will spread and be replicated to all remaining households and individuals. In parallel with publicly disclosing the plan, agencies, units, and organizations need to take advantage of opportunities to persuade the people to agree to the land acquisition plans and decisions; if weekdays are insufficient, they should work even on Saturdays and Sundays."
According to Giang Thi Phuong Hanh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Binh Phuoc Ward, the Binh Phuoc Ward Party Congress has identified one of the ward's key tasks for the 2025-2030 period as focusing on compensation and land clearance to ensure the progress of key projects, including the North-South Expressway (Western section). The Ward Party Committee has determined that land clearance is always a crucial step in creating clean land to attract investment for the construction of projects serving socio -economic development goals.
According to Ms. Giang Thi Phuong Hanh, the 90-day implementation period is not only about meeting deadlines, but also a measure of responsibility, consensus, and solidarity as outlined in the ward's political report. In the coming period, the Ward People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, and other socio-political organizations need to closely coordinate efforts to promote the early handover of land by each household for the project's implementation. In particular, households that hand over land early should be commended to spread positive support among the entire population.

Over the past period, the preparation of documents has been implemented synchronously. The Department of Economy, Infrastructure and Urban Planning of Binh Phuoc Ward has closely coordinated with relevant units to verify 805 land origin documents; of which, 341 plots have houses and structures; and at the same time, publicly posted the results of the review. To date, the ward has coordinated the posting of draft compensation, support, and resettlement plans in 3 phases with 356 documents, totaling approximately 63.08 hectares of land to be acquired, reaching about 8.4/13.8 km of the route length (60%).
Binh Phuoc Ward aims to basically complete land clearance, support, and resettlement work by December 2025. The consensus and support of the people are the "key" to the locality achieving its goals early, creating the most favorable conditions for the national key expressway project to be implemented according to schedule.
