In the early days of the new spring, people rush to the fields, orange groves burst into bloom signaling a bountiful harvest, and farms and factories are being built to create a prosperous future... People are hoping for a new year of development and success with many new achievements. This belief and expectation are being nurtured by the banking system through the provision of capital to individuals, businesses, and cooperatives for investment, development, production, and business from the very first days of the new year.
Following the credit officer, I returned to Nhu Xuan district on the first day of the Lunar New Year 2025 to witness the transformation of this land. The roads are now well-maintained, and tall buildings stand close together... Interspersed with these are lush green orchards and industrial crop farms in full bloom. Large-scale factories and timber processing facilities now provide jobs for hundreds of workers. A prime example is the family of Ms. Nguyen Le Ngoc Linh in Hoa Quy commune, who, thanks to a loan from Agribank Nhu Xuan, successfully implemented the "Tho Village Forest Garden" model to escape poverty. This model currently generates an income of 600 million VND per year and contributes to combating climate change, flash floods, and landslides in the mountainous area. To date, the "Native Forest Garden" has planted more than 50 species of native forest trees such as ironwood, teak, chestnut, ebony, mahogany, orange, tangerine, pomelo, and various medicinal plants and feed crops. Simultaneously, it combines beekeeping and raising chickens in the forest. Products from the forest garden, such as honey, forest trees, medicinal plants, fruits, and feed ingredients, are sold in markets within and outside the province. The family earns approximately 600 million VND per year, providing regular employment for 4 workers and seasonal employment for 10 workers, with an income of 4-5 million VND per person per month.
Nguyen The Khang, Director of Agribank Nhu Xuan branch, said: “Every bank employee always carries within them the aspiration to support people in changing their lives, wishing to help make the lives of farmers better and better. In recent years, the bank's outstanding loan balance has continuously increased, currently reaching nearly 1,000 billion VND, of which almost 100% is for agricultural loans. Farmers use the loan capital very effectively, so they all have a comfortable and prosperous life. That is the most gratifying thing for those of us working in bank credit.”
Despite facing numerous difficulties and challenges in 2024, the province's socio -economic situation continued to develop, with many indicators achieving and exceeding targets. The economic structure gradually shifted in the right direction. Contributing to this success was the significant effort of the banking sector in promptly providing capital for local production and business activities. Mr. Tong Van Anh, Director of the State Bank of Vietnam's Thanh Hoa Provincial Branch, shared: “The unfavorable context of 2024 led to continued difficulties in lending. However, the Thanh Hoa banking sector made efforts to reduce interest rates and implemented many solutions to facilitate and promptly meet the capital needs of people and businesses. By the beginning of 2025, the total outstanding credit in the province is expected to be around 218,000 billion VND.”
To welcome the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025, the State Bank of Vietnam in Thanh Hoa has directed commercial banks and credit institutions to focus capital on production and business sectors, priority areas, and drivers of economic growth, digital transformation, green transformation, climate change adaptation, circular economy, sharing economy, science and technology , and innovation... At the same time, it will strictly control credit in risky sectors, ensuring safe and effective credit operations; continue to implement policies to remove difficulties in accessing credit for businesses and people; and promote lending to serve production, business, and consumer needs after the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025.
This is a testament to the tireless efforts of bankers in Thanh Hoa province. They are likened to diligent bees and tireless birds, bringing bank capital to the people and businesses, contributing to building a prosperous and developing new spring across the country. As the new year begins, credit officers in Thanh Hoa province remain dedicated and passionate about their daily work, quickly delivering capital and providing strong support for the province's economic development plans and social welfare programs.
