Specifically, at around 10:00 a.m. on October 23, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang (59 years old, living in Zone 4, Xuan Lung Commune, Lam Thao District) discovered that the Tam Bao temple of Pho Quang Pagoda was on fire.
Upon entering the temple, Mr. Quang saw a fire breaking out in the front left corner of the main hall. He immediately shouted for help and, along with other people around the temple, used fire extinguishers and other available tools to put out the fire.

However, the fire was unsuccessful and continued to spread to surrounding areas. Immediately after that, Mr. Quang called the authorities to report.
Upon receiving the report, the Lam Thao District People's Committee directed the relevant authorities to notify Lam Thao Superphosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company to coordinate the deployment of fire trucks, and at the same time reported and proposed to the Phu Tho Provincial Police to direct the mobilization of firefighting equipment.
Authorities directed and mobilized functional forces and the public present at the scene to carry out firefighting, ensure security and order, traffic safety, protect the scene, and conduct initial verification of the cause of the incident.
At approximately 10:15 AM, the fire and rescue police force arrived at the scene. By 11:40 AM, the fire had been brought under control and extinguished.
Initial assessments indicate that all the wooden structures, recessed roof tiles, and electrical system were damaged by fire, and the clay and wooden statues inside the temple were also damaged by the heat. The total estimated material damage is approximately 25 billion VND.
Currently, the authorities are continuing to investigate and clarify the cause of the incident.
