The play "The Imperial Capital's Waves" is a historical cai luong play that marks the birth of a new brand: Vam Co Cai Luong Art Troupe, or Long An Cai Luong Troupe after the merger.

The play explores the context of the Dinh Dynasty in the 10th century - a period full of turmoil, intrigue, and dangers from internal and external enemies, threatening the survival of the young Dai Co Viet nation.

The work focuses on depicting the events leading to the collapse of the Dinh Dynasty and the birth of the Tien Le Dynasty, while highlighting the role, bravery and contributions of Queen Mother Duong Van Nga.

The play's content revolves around the following situations: King Dinh Tien Hoang made the mistake of "deposing the eldest son and establishing the second son" when he made his second son Hang Lang the Crown Prince instead of the eldest son Dinh Lien, causing a tragedy in the inner palace and leading to Hang Lang's death.

After that, both Dinh Tien Hoang and Dinh Lien were assassinated, power fell into the hands of Le Hoan - General of the Ten Directions, regent for the young king Dinh Toan.

The power struggle, suspicion and conflict between loyal mandarins such as Nguyen Bac, Dinh Dien, Pham Hap and Le Hoan broke out, ending with the defeat and death of the meritorious mandarins.

Interspersed are conspiracy theories and annexation plots from foreign powers such as Champa and the North, metaphorically portrayed through the characters of Queen Ca Ong and the Lu family.

People's Artist Ho Ngoc Trinh shared: "The character of Queen Mother Duong Van Nga, played by Meritorious Artist Ngoc Doi, is at the center of all the storms. Sharing about the new move after the province's merger, People's Artist Ho Ngoc Trinh said: "From July 1, Long An Cai Luong art troupe officially has a new name: Vam Co Cai Luong art troupe. This event marks a memorable turning point when the two localities of Long An and Tay Ninh merged, "drinking the same water of Vam Co Dong", now sharing the same administrative and artistic roof.

The name "Vam Co" is not only a symbol of connecting geographical space - where Dong Vam Co merges with Tay Vam Co to form the typical river of this land.
