The Department of Education and Training of Thua Thien Hue province has just issued a document to its affiliated units, as well as the Departments of Education and Training, and the Centers for Vocational Education and Continuing Education in the districts, towns, and Hue City, regarding the organization of teaching and learning in the context of continuing to respond to the developments of rain and floods.

In the official document, the Department of Education and Training of Thua Thien Hue province stated that, according to the forecast of the Provincial Meteorological and Hydrological Station, from the afternoon of November 25th to 27th, Thua Thien Hue will continue to experience heavy rain, very heavy rain, and exceptionally heavy rain in some areas. Given the situation, the Department of Education and Training of Thua Thien Hue Province has announced that schools in flood-affected areas where travel is still impossible will continue to suspend classes until safe conditions allow students to return to school. Simultaneously, plans for compensatory teaching will be implemented to ensure the completion of the overall school year schedule.

In less affected, dry areas (Nam Dong district, A Luoi district, and some localities in Huong Thuy town, Huong Tra district, and Phong Dien district...), students will return to normal schooling from November 26th.

Regarding safety education to minimize accidents and injuries after floods, the Thua Thien Hue Department of Education and Training requires all units to implement the directives in the Department's guiding documents. In particular, students should be instructed to absolutely avoid going to ponds, lakes, rivers, and streams after each school day without adult supervision.

According to the latest report from the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control of Thua Thien Hue province, at 3 PM on November 25th, the water level of the Huong River at Kim Long station was 2.93m, 0.57m below alarm level 3; the Bo River at Phu Oc was 3.83m, 0.83m above alarm level 2.

Rising river levels caused flooding of 0.3-0.6 meters on many roads in the center of Hue City. Some inter-village and hamlet roads in communes of Hue City and districts and towns such as Huong Thuy and Quang Dien were also deeply flooded, with water levels ranging from 0.3-0.7 meters.

Last night (November 24th), a landslide in A Luoi district (Thua Thien - Hue province) also caused part of the house of Mr. Tran Van Khua (born in 1973, residing in Lien Hiep village, Lam Dot commune, A Luoi district) to collapse, injuring 2 people, while 6 others fortunately escaped unharmed.
