After being the target of two failed assassination attempts, former US President Donald Trump requested increased security for himself as Election Day approached.

According to The New York Times , Trump's campaign contacted White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients and Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe to request the deployment of military systems to protect the Republican candidate.
CNN, citing sources, revealed that Trump's team wants to travel by military aircraft with anti-missile capabilities. In addition, they are requesting an expanded no-fly zone over his residence and campaign venues, and the installation of bulletproof glass at events, according to The Washington Post .
Biden says there are signs the 2024 US election will not be 'peaceful'?
Trump's team reportedly told authorities they had to change schedules or cancel campaign events due to a lack of protection.
However, a U.S. Secret Service representative asserted that the former president is receiving the highest level of protection but still requires more. "The Secret Service will remain vigilant and continue to adjust and enhance its protective readiness as needed to mitigate any growing threats," the representative said.
On October 11, President Joe Biden said that the armed forces should comply with Trump's request, "as long as he doesn't ask for an F-15," referring to a US fighter jet.
"I've asked the department to give him everything he needs, treating him like the sitting president. If the request is on the list, then that's fine," President Biden said.
Mr. Trump's team has not commented on these reports.
