On the afternoon of October 10th, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh chaired a meeting with key departments, agencies, and localities to discuss solutions for promoting and developing tourism in the remaining months of 2024, aiming to achieve the target of welcoming 19 million tourists, including 3.5 million international visitors this year.

With its diverse tourist routes, destinations, and products, along with high-quality services, Quang Ninh welcomed 15.6 million visitors in the first nine months of 2024, a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 98.1% of the nine-month growth target. Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND 36,856 billion, a 39% increase compared to the same period in 2023, achieving 97.8% of the nine-month growth target. Notably, nearly 2.6 million of these were international tourists, mainly from China, South Korea, Taiwan (China), the United States, India, France, Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan.

In the first nine months, 132 out of 186 programs and events were successfully organized, attracting a large number of tourists to Quang Ninh. Some notable programs and events include: Ha Long Carnival; Hot Air Balloon Festival in Ha Long City; Ha Long Sailing Festival; VN Express Marathon Amazing 2024...
In addition, the Department of Tourism, the Quang Ninh Tourism Association, and tourism businesses have participated in several domestic and international tourism promotion fairs. They have also effectively promoted sea tourism, connected international flight routes, and developed new tourism products.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the provincial tourism sector aims to welcome 3,361,000 tourists (including 909,000 international visitors). To achieve this goal, the sector proposes that several localities increase the number of tourists, while focusing on domestic and international promotion and advertising. Localities, departments, and units will continue to focus on cleaning up the landscape and environment in coastal areas and tourist zones; pay attention to ensuring a safe tourism environment; and organize cultural, tourism, and sports activities and events to attract visitors.
In her concluding remarks, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh requested the Department of Tourism and relevant sectors and localities to continue their determined efforts to implement the 186 programs and events promoting tourism and exploiting the 67 new tourism products outlined at the beginning of the year. In particular, from now until the end of the year, new tourism products and major events and activities will be announced, such as: the Korea-Vietnam Music Festival; the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2024; the Vietnam-China Cross-Border Running Race; the Binh Lieu Tourism and Culture Week; and autumn tourism activities and events in Uong Bi… She also urged the prompt development of three beaches – Soi Sim, Hang Co, and Trinh Nu – in Ha Long Bay; the organization of art performances combined with light refreshments in some suitable caves in the Bay; and the identification of seven pristine island areas and beaches targeting the billionaire and ultra-luxury segment, representing the top 1% of the world's population. The province will organize events to mark the arrival of its 17 millionth tourist and 3 millionth international visitor to Quang Ninh. The goal is to organize the first cruise ship tour on Bai Tu Long Bay by the end of October; simultaneously, it will continue to promote and issue a plan to develop its fleet, aiming to have 100 high-quality, newly built cruise ships in Bai Tu Long Bay. It will develop all-inclusive experiential packages connecting key tourist destinations and localities in the province with preferential prices and guaranteed service quality. Tourism products will be diversified for the autumn and winter seasons, and year-round tourism will be developed. The province will boost cruise tourism, building on the success of the Hong Kong, Guangdong (China) - Ha Long cruise route; and continue promoting the Beihai - Ha Long cruise route. Attention will also be paid to promoting flight connections through Van Don International Airport. Enhance communication and promotion through reputable news media channels, and focus on reaching diverse customer segments across social media platforms.
One of the key solutions from now until the end of the year is for the province to organize working groups to directly promote tourism at industrial parks, large domestic economic groups, and foreign businesses with abundant customer sources and a demand for sightseeing, relaxation, and year-end conferences; and to promote potential markets in the south such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai. These solutions are feasible and effective, with the highest effort to achieve the set goals.
