On November 11th, to honor the immense contributions of composer Phan Huynh Dieu, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued a postage stamp set commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of composer Phan Huynh Dieu (1924 - 2015).

The stamp set consists of one stamp measuring 43 x 32 mm, with a face value of 4,000 VND.

Available through the postal network from November 11, 2024 to June 30, 2026, the postage stamp set "Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Composer Phan Huynh Dieu" was designed by artists Pham Quang Dieu and Le Khanh Vuong of Vietnam Post Corporation.

The main image on the stamp is a simple portrait of composer Phan Huỳnh Điểu, alongside an image of the musical piece 'Đoàn Vệ Quốc Quân' (National Guard), one of the immortal works in the musical legacy of this talented composer from Da Nang.

Born and raised in Da Nang city, composer Phan Huynh Dieu is one of the most prominent composers of contemporary Vietnamese music in the 20th century.

Composer Phan Huynh Dieu had a diverse style of composition, ranging from revolutionary songs to love songs and children's songs.

Many of his works, such as "The National Guard," "Remembering Uncle Ho," "March of Day and Night," "The Stars of the Night," "Life Is Still Beautiful," and "The Shadow of the Kơnia Tree," are still loved by many generations of music listeners today.

For his significant contributions to Vietnamese music, in 1988, composer Phan Huynh Dieu was awarded the Third-Class Independence Medal by the State. In 2000, he was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize by the State.

The author of "Vietnam, My Homeland" is featured on postage stamps . The stamp set "Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Composer Do Nhuan (1922 - 2022)" is designed with graphics inspired by the song "Vietnam, My Homeland," depicting the beautiful homeland of Vietnam, always warmly welcoming to international friends.
