This is a social security activity maintained by the Hospital every year, aiming to implement the policy "The whole country joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind" and the Project on elderly health care for the period 2017-2025 of the Ministry of Health .
Since 2019, the Hospital has coordinated with the Asian Foundation for the Prevention of Blindness (APBA) to perform free cataract surgery using the Phaco method for hundreds of people in the province.
In preparation for this year's program, since July, the Hospital has organized examinations, consultations, and free medication for ophthalmic diseases; screening, treatment support, and planning cataract surgery for nearly 400 people in the communes of Nghinh Tuong, Sang Moc, Van Han, and Quang Son ( Thai Nguyen province). At the same time, it has received artificial lenses from the Asian Blindness Prevention Organization (APBA).
Previously, on August 7, 41 eligible people completed the admission procedures and pre-operative examination at the Ophthalmology Department. On the afternoon of August 8, the surgeries began and lasted until August 10.
