Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Wave Festival - Vietnam Card Day 2025, co-organized by Tien Phong Newspaper and NAPAS on the evening of October 18th, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc reiterated the Government's national comprehensive financial strategy until 2025 and its vision until 2030.

Vietnam is striving to achieve the goal of having at least 80% of adults with cashless transaction accounts, a growth rate of 20-25% per year.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, cashless payment is an inevitable and irreversible trend, the main flow of payments that Vietnam has quickly embraced.

Mr. Ho Duc Phoc suggested that the banking and finance sector and related units focus on investing in technology and digital infrastructure, and quickly strengthen and popularize cashless payment points nationwide across all business and trading sectors.

Units are also required to strengthen security and safety measures, ensuring maximum benefits and rights for customers using cashless payment technology.

Simultaneously, these units are expanding, strengthening international connections and integration; promoting training and development of digital human resources; and enhancing the dissemination, promotion, and training of knowledge and skills in modern payment methods.

According to Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Pham Tien Dung, the Vietnamese banking sector has been achieving outstanding results in digital transformation and innovation.

Advanced technologies such as QR codes, mobile payments, and biometrics have been widely applied to improve service quality, optimize processes, and create new value for customers. In recent years, the rate of cashless payments has grown strongly, contributing to the transparency of transactions, reducing social costs, and promoting the growth of the digital economy .

Mr. Pham Tien Dung emphasized that the younger generation born in the digital age will not only be beneficiaries but also driving forces for change, contributing to building a smart, transparent, safe, and sustainable payment society.

"The banking sector will coordinate with the financial sector, continue to build on the achievements already made, overcome challenges, and contribute even more to the national digital transformation, building a sustainable and prosperous digital economy," Mr. Pham Tien Dung stated.
