Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh worked on the situation of overcoming the consequences of storms and floods; solutions to promote production and business, create jobs and livelihoods for people; disbursement of public investment capital, construction of infrastructure, social housing, emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, import and export; 3 national target programs in the province and implementation of the Conclusions in the Announcements of the Government Office.
Reporting at the meeting, the leaders of Quang Ninh province emphasized: To quickly overcome the consequences of storm No. 3, the province has mobilized the entire political system, armed forces and the entire population to participate in overcoming the consequences caused by the storm. In particular, after only 7 days, the cleanup and temporary repair of damaged structures and broken and fallen trees have been basically completed. Essential services have been basically restored. In addition to cutting unnecessary and urgent expenses, Quang Ninh has allocated about 1,000 billion VND to carry out damage recovery work after storm No. 3.
According to the report, in the first 9 months of 2024, Quang Ninh's economic growth rate (GRDP) reached 8.02%; total tourism revenue is estimated at 36,856 billion VND, up 39% over the same period. Total state budget revenue in the area reached nearly 40,500 billion VND, equivalent to 73% of the estimate. The disbursement rate reached 32.2% of the capital plan assigned at the beginning of the year.
Regarding the results of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, in 2023, the province completed eliminating 100% of newly-emerged temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. Quang Ninh strives to completely eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households, and people affected by natural disasters by 2025 and support families of meritorious people facing housing difficulties and dilapidated houses in need of repair and new construction in the area. Regarding the construction of social housing for low-income people, it is expected that by 2025, Quang Ninh will complete 8,200 units and ensure the fulfillment of the targets assigned by the Government.
Regarding the 3 national target programs, Quang Ninh has basically completed the goals of the whole period. Quang Ninh is determined to maintain the goal of maintaining a double-digit growth rate (GRDP) in 2024.
At the meeting, the leaders of Quang Ninh province requested the Government, ministries and central agencies to study and issue separate and strong enough mechanisms and policies to support sectors and fields that are heavily affected by storm No. 3. Especially preferential credit policies for businesses and households affected by storms; preferential policies for investment projects and industrial parks with special characteristics...
Concluding the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh highly appreciated Quang Ninh province for proactively preventing, responding to and quickly implementing solutions to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3.
The Deputy Prime Minister commended Quang Ninh for its efforts to develop its socio-economy despite many difficulties, with many bright spots, especially in the fields of tourism, manufacturing and construction.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested Quang Ninh to continue to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital; develop infrastructure, improve competitiveness; step up trade promotion, and enhance tourism development to create new development momentum for the locality.
Regarding the province's proposals, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh requested central ministries and branches to consider and resolve the recommendations as soon as possible, creating conditions for Quang Ninh to continue to maintain its position as a comprehensive growth pole in the Northern region.
