On May 31, Mr. Nguyen Dang Vinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tu Nghia district ( Quang Ngai province) has just signed a decision approving the project of embankment to prevent landslides on the banks of Cay Bua river (Nghia Phuong commune, Tu Nghia district) to ensure the safety of people's lives and property and social infrastructure works along the riverbank.

Accordingly, there are currently about 29 households living along the downstream of the Cay Bua River, the inter-village and inter-hamlet traffic routes and power lines directly affected by riverbank erosion. After many rainy and flood seasons, the Cay Bua Riverbank has eroded close to people's houses and the edge of the traffic road.

The scale of construction of the new protective embankment is 950m long, the top of the embankment is combined with traffic, the largest embankment height is 3.5m, the form of the slope embankment. The items of the embankment include 10 steps up and down, 6 drainage culverts from the field to the river and 1 pumping station. Construction methods are combined with mechanical and manual.

The project has a total investment of 35 billion VND, of which the investment capital comes from the provincial and district budget savings, with implementation period in 2023-2025.

Previously, SGGP Online Newspaper published an article " Seriously eroding riverbanks, threatening to swallow 29 households in Quang Ngai" in December 2023, reflecting the increasingly serious erosion of the Cay Bua riverbank through Nghia Phuong commune (Tu Nghia district, Quang Ngai province), encroaching on people's houses, posing a risk of landslides on local inter-village roads.
