Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 3 ( Yagi ) and the request to close some airports by the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority, airlines have canceled a series of flights today, September 7th.

Vietnam Airlines, the national airline of Vietnam, plans to cancel and reschedule more than 110 flights. Specifically, the airline will cancel 34 flights and adjust the schedules of 78 other domestic and international flights.

On September 7th, Bamboo Airways will cancel several flights, including: QH1540 (Ho Chi Minh City-Hai Phong), QH1547 (Hai Phong-Ho Chi Minh City), QH1421 ( Hanoi -Da Lat), QH1422 (Da Lat-Hanoi), QH103 (Hanoi-Da Nang), QH104 (Da Nang-Hanoi), QH1213 (Hanoi-Quy Nhon), QH1212 (Quy Nhon-Hanoi), QH1415 (Hanoi-Nha Trang), QH1416 (Nha Trang-Hanoi), QH242 (Ho Chi Minh City-Hanoi), QH255 (Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City), QH244 (Ho Chi Minh City-Hanoi), and QH275 (Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City).

Vietjet Airlines also canceled 18 flights to and from Hai Phong (Cat Bi Airport) between 5 AM and 4 PM on September 7th; canceled 67 flights to and from Hanoi (Noi Bai Airport) between 10 AM and 7 PM on September 7th; and suspended 4 flights to and from Thanh Hoa (Tho Xuan Airport) between 12 PM and 10 PM on September 7th.

"Other flights are also expected to have their operating times adjusted due to the impact of the storm," a Vietjet representative said.

These airlines express their deep regret in cases where flight schedules have to be changed due to weather conditions in order to ensure the absolute safety of each flight and hope for passengers' understanding in this unforeseen situation.

Flight times may still change depending on the storm's progress and authorities' directives, so passengers planning to travel to/from airports in the affected area should continue to monitor and update information to proactively plan their schedules. Further adjustments to flight schedules will be communicated to customers by the airline through the contact information provided on their tickets.

Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 3, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has temporarily closed four airports to ensure operational safety.

Specifically, Van Don International Airport (Quang Ninh) will temporarily suspend receiving and operating aircraft from 4 AM to 4 PM on September 7th. Cat Bi International Airport (Hai Phong City) will also temporarily suspend receiving and operating aircraft from 5 AM to 4 PM on September 7th.

Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi) will cease receiving and operating aircraft from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on September 7th. Tho Xuan Airport (Thanh Hoa) will also cease receiving and operating aircraft from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM on September 7th.

The Civil Aviation Authority has instructed aviation meteorological service providers to continue regularly monitoring and updating meteorological bulletins and forecasting the time when airports can resume operations. If an airport can resume operations sooner, the aviation meteorological agency should promptly report to the Authority so that airport operating hours can be adjusted accordingly.

The Civil Aviation Authority also instructed the Director General of the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation to develop a plan for air traffic control at Noi Bai International Airport after the storm, ensuring a harmonious balance of flight operations based on the principle of prioritizing long-haul flights, international flights, and domestic flights. The Air Transport Department was tasked with ensuring full departure and arrival times for compensatory flights affected by Typhoon No. 3.
