On the morning of October 23, the Hue City Civil Defense Command announced that heavy rains due to Typhoon No. 12 had caused severe erosion along a 1km stretch of coastline in Hoa Duan residential area, Thuan An ward.
Seawater intrusion extends 50 to 70 meters inland, affecting essential infrastructure, tourism services, and posing a risk of creating new sea access points.




A 2km stretch of coastline in Vinh Loc commune is experiencing severe erosion, encroaching 10 to 30 meters inland, affecting Provincial Road 21, essential infrastructure, and posing a risk of coastal erosion.


Earlier that morning, several landslides continued to occur in Khe Tre commune, Hue City. In particular, at the intersection from the La Son - Tuy Loan expressway to the center of Khe Tre commune, the embankment slope collapsed.
Authorities in Khe Tre commune, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh Highway Project Management Board, are implementing a plan to address the issue and prevent vehicles from passing through the area.


In the area of Pass No. 5, Loc Hung village, Khe Tre commune, there is a risk of landslides threatening to isolate approximately 40 households. The local authorities have developed a plan to relocate them safely.
