On the morning of June 27, candidates taking the 2025 high school graduation exam under the 2018 General Education Program entered the final exam session with two elective subjects.

In addition to math and literature, which are two compulsory subjects, candidates must take two elective subjects out of nine (foreign languages, history, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, economic and legal education, information technology, and technology).
Leaving the exam site, Minh Ngoc, a student at Nguyen Du High School, smiled and said she was quite confident about the English exam. "I didn't miss any questions. If my answers were correct, I could have gotten 9 points or more," Minh Ngoc said.
As a candidate who chose to take the geography and history exams, Trung Nguyen, a student at the Center for Continuing Education and Vocational Training in District 1, said that although his strength is history, he feels that the geography exam is somewhat "easier", and the possibility of a higher score in geography is higher than in history.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, history is the elective subject with the largest number of candidates registering for the exam, with more than 499,300 students.
Also this morning, more than 26,700 independent candidates took the exam according to the old 2006 General Education Program with the natural science or social science exam. In the afternoon, they continued to take the foreign language exam.
