Comrade Tran Luu Quang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Prime Minister , and Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee, presided over the conference.
Attending the conference at the Lao Cai branch were Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, and representatives from relevant departments and agencies.

Over the past six months, 12,350 traffic accidents occurred nationwide, resulting in 5,343 deaths and 9,552 injuries. Compared to the same period in 2023, this represents an increase of 1,665 accidents, a decrease of 634 deaths, and an increase of 2,426 injuries.
In Lao Cai, traffic police handled nearly 9,000 traffic violations, imposing fines totaling over 23.4 billion VND and temporarily seizing 4,240 vehicles. Traffic accidents decreased gradually; specifically, in April there were 27 accidents, resulting in 9 deaths and 24 injuries; in May there were 22 accidents, resulting in 7 deaths and 16 injuries; and in June there were 17 accidents, resulting in 4 deaths and 18 injuries.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee, requested ministries, sectors, and localities to continue implementing comprehensive and decisive solutions to curb traffic accidents. These solutions should focus on disseminating and educating the public about traffic safety laws; actively patrolling, inspecting, and strictly handling violations; researching and increasing administrative penalties; and applying science and technology in inspecting and handling violations to ensure deterrence.
