Exciting Harvest Festival in the hometown of late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong
On the morning of April 20, the Harvest Festival took place in Duc Tan Commune, Mo Duc District, Quang Ngai Province. The festival was held in the hometown of the late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong (Duc Tan Commune). This is also a bright spot in the construction of an advanced new rural commune and is strongly developing the community tourism model. The festival recreates the ancient village scene, honoring the profession of growing rice and processing food from rice. The students participated enthusiastically in the rice harvesting experience activities. "Before, I only knew about agricultural production through books. Now that I have the opportunity to participate in the Harvest Festival, I can feel the hard work of farmers and appreciate rice grains more," said Nguyen Lam Han (5A grade student, Duc Tan Primary School). Besides harvesting rice, within the framework of the festival there are many other activities such as folk games, making rustic cakes from rice: rice paper, water fern cake, pancake... Tourists are excited to experience making cakes. The festival also has food stalls featuring specialties from the Duc Tan agricultural region. Straw mannequins simulating production activities in the fields are one of the typical highlights of the Harvest Festival. This is also an area where many students and tourists come to have fun and check in. According to local authorities, the Harvest Festival honoring rice will be held annually to create a unique local tourism product, gradually promoting the community tourism model. "The Harvest Festival is a place where activities honoring the quintessence of rice culture and fun experiences imbued with rural identity converge" - Vice Chairman of Duc Tan Commune People's Committee Tran Le Vuong Vu shared.
