Promoting the synergy of economic zones in Lam Dong province is a necessary strategic solution. From there, we aim to exploit potential, promote development and improve people's lives.

Connecting the industry value chain

The synergy between Lam Dong's economic zones brings many practical benefits. Firstly, sharing resources and experience between zones optimizes production processes. For example, agricultural products from Thuan Hanh, Tanh Linh, and Ham Thuan Bac communes can be processed in Duc Trong commune, creating high value-added products. Furthermore, linking economic zones will create concentrated agricultural production areas, supplying raw materials for processing. This, in turn, enhances market access for neighboring agricultural production areas.

Mr. Nguyen Van Y, a member of Binh Tien Cooperative in Duc An commune, said: “The linkage of production between economic zones in Lam Dong province is no longer a problem. Companies and cooperatives in Don Duong and Duc Trong have strengths in capital, high technology, and processing, and can easily link up to transfer technology and purchase products from remote and border communes.”

Neighboring communes with large land reserves will also collaborate to develop raw material areas and produce standardized products. Through this synergy, Lam Dong's agricultural products can be promoted and consumed more widely when presented in a consistent and professional manner, from production to marketing.

According to Mr. Le Binh Minh, Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Department of Finance, in light of the opportunities and driving forces promoting the value chain of agricultural sectors, Lam Dong province continues to restructure its agricultural sector in conjunction with innovating its growth model. This involves developing highly efficient, ecological, organic, large-scale agricultural economies with high added value. In particular, Lam Dong focuses on supporting localities in building specialized farming areas and adapting to climate change, strongly applying technology, innovation, and digital transformation to create breakthroughs in productivity, quality, and competitiveness.

Creating momentum from synergy

Lam Dong currently has many opportunities to re-establish its economic development strategy based on the linkages and complementarity between regions. At the same time, the province will focus on building linkages in the agricultural-industrial-service value chain to maximize the overall strength of the local economy.

In terms of potential, Lam Dong province has advantages in developing ecotourism, high-end resorts, coastal and island tourism, agro-tourism, and indigenous community tourism, with the Da Lat - Phan Thiet - Ta Dung tourism cluster as a strategic axis. The province's location also helps connect tourism products from Ho Chi Minh City to Buon Ma Thuot. Regarding industry, Lam Dong possesses 5.4 billion tons of bauxite and 599 million tons of titanium reserves, capable of attracting renewable energy projects, especially wind and solar power, aiming for a capacity of 5,292.11 MW in the 2025-2030 period.

Despite its significant potential, leveraging the synergy between economic regions also faces several challenges. One of these is the lack of synchronization in planning and infrastructure development between regions. According to Mr. Le Binh Minh, to address this issue, the province has identified planning as a key factor. Therefore, the province will urgently review and adjust its provincial planning to ensure consistency with regional and national planning. The province will focus on attracting investment in areas of strength such as: high-quality agriculture, tourism, urban development, renewable energy, and the exploitation and deep processing of bauxite and titanium.

At the same time, focus on addressing obstacles in specialized planning, land planning, and urban-rural planning to create a synchronized and favorable legal framework for investors and long-term development orientation. This will create momentum from the synergy between the local economic zones.

By maximizing the synergy between economic regions and effectively addressing the challenges of modern organizational structure and governance, Lam Dong has all the necessary conditions to become a new growth pole in the region, contributing to the overall development of the country in the new era.
