Overtime work, construction through Tet to race to upgrade Lo Te route

The Lo Te - Rach Soi upgrade project is running at full speed, with overtime, additional shifts, additional construction sites, working through Tet, determined to finish ahead of schedule.

On January 17, Mr. Tran Van Thi, Director of My Thuan Project Management Board, said that the Board requested contractors to develop a construction plan throughout the Lunar New Year, speeding up the progress of the project to upgrade the Lo Te - Rach Soi route through Can Tho city and Kien Giang .

The contractor mobilized about 150 workers and engineers, organizing 17 teams across the project.

Regarding the project implementation, the Director of My Thuan Project Management Board said that the contractors are currently mobilizing about 150 workers and engineers, organizing 17 teams. Of which, four teams are working on scraping and recycling, three teams are working on asphalt concrete, the remaining 10 teams are working on cement piles, expanding emergency lanes, etc.

"The cumulative construction output to date has reached 17% of the contract. The My Thuan Project Management Board has requested contractors to take advantage of the relatively favorable weather, increase construction teams, increase shifts, speed up progress, and strive to complete the project before June 30, 2025, three months ahead of the signed contract.

In ensuring traffic safety, the My Thuan Project Management Board has also directed and requested units to regularly patrol, check for road surface damage and promptly repair it, ensuring traffic safety on the route," said the Director of the My Thuan Project Management Board.

The investor strives to shorten the project construction time, completing it 3 months ahead of schedule.

The Te - Rach Soi route has a total length of more than 51km, passing through Can Tho city and Kien Giang province. The project started in 2016 and was completed and put into use in January 2021.

According to the road network planning approved by the Prime Minister , the route is being upgraded to expressway standards and will become part of the future Western North-South Expressway.

On that basis, the Ministry of Transport assigned My Thuan Project Management Board as the investor, undertaking the project to upgrade Lo Te - Rach Soi route through Can Tho city and Kien Giang.

The scale of investment in upgrading mainly includes asphalt concrete pavement and completing the traffic safety system, complying with national technical standards on road signs. The project has a total investment of about 750 billion VND.
