In the men's 67 kg final, Khuat Hai Nam, an athlete from the People's Police Sports team , faced off against the home fighter Chanchang.
Despite the immense pressure of competing in front of the home crowd and witnessing the defeats of his two teammates in previous finals, Hainan remained calm and confident, demonstrating precise timing and speed.
With his flexible and effective fighting style, he won overwhelmingly 6-1 against his opponent. In his first SEA Games appearance, Khuat Hai Nam brought home a gold medal for Vietnamese Karate, marking a memorable milestone in his career.

Having risen through the ranks of the People's Police sports team, Khuất Hải Nam was awarded a spot to participate in the 33rd SEA Games after winning the national championship this year. Head coach Dương Hoàng Long commented that Hải Nam is one of the most skilled martial artists and, above all, maintains a fighting spirit when competing.
Sharing his thoughts after the victory, Khuat Hai Nam could not hide his joy and emotion at winning the gold medal in his first SEA Games appearance.
He admitted to being somewhat nervous at first, but by the end of the match, he was overwhelmed with happiness and pride. This was the result of persistent training, focus, and determination in the ring.
Hainan expressed his sincere gratitude to his coaches, experts, and fans who have always been with him, encouraged him, and supported him from his first training sessions to this important competition day.
