The third-place match between the Vietnamese women's team and the Thai women's team was exciting from the very first minutes. Surprisingly, the Thai women's team started the game better and controlled the ball in the first minutes. In the following period, both teams were stuck in their attacking combinations, resulting in very few notable opportunities being created.

In the 38th minute, Huynh Nhu had a chance to shoot but failed, and Bich Thuy's follow-up shot was too weak. However, in the last minute of the first half, the efforts of the Vietnamese women's team were rewarded. From a pass from her teammate, Hai Yen controlled the ball neatly before finishing with a tricky shot, opening the score 1-0. The first half ended with Vietnam in the lead.

In the second half, the Vietnamese women's team continued to maintain pressure. In the 65th minute, the Thai defense made a mistake, creating an opportunity for Huynh Nhu to face the ball. Although it took two shots, the captain number 9 was able to put the ball into the net, raising the score to 2-0.

Just 3 minutes later, in the 68th minute, the third goal came very quickly for the Vietnamese women's team. Thai Thi Thao had an accurate pass and Bich Thuy had a classy one-touch volley, raising the score to 3-0.

At the end of the match, the Vietnamese defense played loosely, allowing Wirunya to shoot comfortably in the penalty area, scoring the equalizer 1-3 for Thailand in the 87th minute. The match ended with a 3-1 victory for the Vietnamese women's team, helping coach Mai Duc Chung and his team win third place overall.
