The third-place match between the Vietnamese and Thai women's teams was exciting from the very first minutes. Surprisingly, the Thai team started better and controlled the ball in the early minutes. For the remainder of the match, both teams struggled to create effective attacking combinations, resulting in very few notable opportunities.

In the 38th minute, Huỳnh Như had a chance to shoot but failed, and Bích Thùy's subsequent shot was too weak. However, right at the end of the first half, the efforts of the Vietnamese women's team were rewarded. From a long pass from a teammate, Hải Yến controlled the ball neatly before unleashing a powerful shot, opening the scoring at 1-0. The first half ended with Vietnam leading.

In the second half, the Vietnamese women's team continued to maintain pressure. In the 65th minute, the Thai defense made a mistake, creating an opportunity for Huỳnh Như to face the goalkeeper. Although it took two shots, the captain, wearing number 9, finally managed to put the ball into the net, increasing the score to 2-0.

Just three minutes later, in the 68th minute, the third goal came quickly for the Vietnamese women's team. Thai Thi Thao delivered an accurate through pass and Bich Thuy scored with a superb one-touch volley, increasing the score to 3-0.

Towards the end of the match, the Vietnamese defense played loosely, allowing Wirunya to comfortably finish inside the penalty area, scoring to reduce the deficit to 1-3 for Thailand in the 87th minute. The match ended with a 3-1 victory for the Vietnamese women's team, helping coach Mai Duc Chung's team secure third place overall.
