With only the top three teams and the best-performing second-placed team advancing to the semi-finals of the 2024 Southeast Asian U16 Championship, both Vietnam U16 and Myanmar U16 entered the match with great determination.

The two teams engaged in an exciting back-and-forth battle right from the opening whistle. In the 6th minute, Gia Bao made a clever through pass, and Van Bach broke free to shoot, but Htet Wai Yan made a diving save.
Immediately after this situation, Van Bach released the ball for Viet Long to break through and cross, but the U16 Myanmar defender managed to clear the ball before Gia Bao could take a shot.
The intense pressure helped the Vietnam U16 team break the deadlock. In the 18th minute, from a pass back from a teammate, Thai Hoa unleashed a long-range shot that left goalkeeper Htet Wai Yan helpless.
In the 26th minute, the score was 2-0 for Vietnam U16. Following a poor clearance by a Myanmar U16 defender, Thai Hoa surged forward from the second line and unleashed a powerful and beautiful shot that goalkeeper Yan Htet Wai was unable to stop.

In the 41st minute, U16 Myanmar scored to reduce the deficit to 1-2. Two U16 Vietnam defenders were beaten by Nyu Nyi Thant, and goalkeeper Thang Long's attempt to block the shot was unsuccessful, allowing the player to easily put the ball into the empty net.
In the second half, the Vietnam U16 team continued to be the more proactive side in attack. In the 54th minute, Thai Hoa dribbled the ball close to the penalty area and unleashed a powerful shot that hit the crossbar of the Myanmar U16 goal. If it had gone in, it would certainly have been a spectacular goal.

In the 66th minute, substitute Bui Duy Dang made a surprise run, but unfortunately, he failed to control the ball well, missing a one-on-one opportunity with the Myanmar U16 goalkeeper. However, shortly afterwards, Bui Duy Dang scored with a header to increase the score to 3-1 for the red-shirted team.
In the 71st minute, following a cross from a Vietnam U16 player, the Myanmar defender failed to clear the ball properly, creating an opportunity for Thai Hieu to score from inside the penalty area, increasing the score to 4-1.

But that wasn't all; 10 minutes later, following a well-coordinated play by the Vietnam U16 team, Duy Đặng crossed the ball from the left wing for Việt Long to easily tap it into the net from close range, scoring against Myanmar U16.
The final score was 5-1. With this result, Vietnam U16 finished first in Group B, advancing to the semi-finals of the 2024 Southeast Asian U16 Championship in Indonesia.
