The achievements of the 2025 professor candidate with assets of nearly 9,000 billion VND

According to the list of candidates proposed for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor from the State Council of Professors in 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Ho Xuan Nang is one of the candidates for professor this year in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

Associate Professor Dr. Ho Xuan Nang was born in 1964 in Ninh Binh (former Nam Dinh province). He is currently a lecturer, Chairman of the University Council, and General Director of Phenikaa University.

Mr. Nang graduated from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (now Hanoi University of Science and Technology) in 1986 with a major in Internal Combustion Engines.

In 1992, at the age of 28, he was awarded a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

He was recognized as Associate Professor in 2022, Department of Dynamics.

According to the candidate profile, from 2017 to present, Mr. Ho Xuan Nang has been a lecturer and Chairman of the Board of Phenikaa. During this period, he held the position of Director of Phenikaa Research and Technology Institute.

Mr. Ho Xuan Nang also worked as a guest lecturer at the Maritime University; taught and guided graduate students at the Vietnam Agricultural Electromechanical Institute; guided graduation projects and participated in the Graduation Evaluation Council for students at the University of Transport, Vietnam National Academy of Agriculture; and worked as a lecturer at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Besides, Mr. Ho Xuan Nang participates in many business activities and holds many important positions.

Mr. Nang has held the positions of Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of A&A Green Phoenix Group Joint Stock Company; Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vicostone Joint Stock Company; Director of Vinaconex High-end Stone Joint Stock Company, and General Director of Vicostone Joint Stock Company.

From June 2014 to present, he has held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vicostone, a unit of Phenikaa Group.

As of June 30, Mr. Ho Xuan Nang had published 109 scientific articles, including 55 scientific articles in prestigious international journals and 14 scientific reports published in conference proceedings listed in Scopus (the world's largest database of citations and summaries of scientific publications), and was the main author of 22 prestigious international articles after being recognized as an associate professor.

He was also granted 14 patents and 5 utility solution patents.

The main research directions of Associate Professor Dr. Ho Xuan Nang include heat and mass transfer, autonomous technology and smart mechatronic systems, energy storage technology, materials, structures and exploitation of power equipment.

Associate Professor Dr. Ho Xuan Nang has been awarded many noble prizes such as the First, Second and Third Class Labor Medals from the President; Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister, the title of National Emulation Fighter, and many awards for scientific and technological innovation.

Mr. Ho Xuan Nang is nicknamed "Jewish" tycoon Nang by the business community. He became famous in 2014 with the sensational acquisition deal between A&A Green Phoenix Group Joint Stock Company (Phenikaa) and Vinaconex High-end Stone Joint Stock Company (the predecessor of Vicostone).

He is also known as the "boss" in the stone cladding industry in Vietnam.

By the end of 2024, Mr. Ho Xuan Nang will be on the list of the richest people on the Vietnamese stock exchange with estimated assets of nearly 9,000 billion VND.
