To commemorate the 233rd anniversary of the death of the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong, many meaningful sports and cultural activities are continuing to take place in Huong Son district (Ha Tinh province).
On February 21st, at the tomb and monument of the renowned physician Le Huu Trac in Son Trung commune, a competition for wrapping banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), a tug-of-war (women's) competition, and a stick-pushing (men's) competition took place as part of the Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac Festival. |
The competition attracted over 120 athletes from all 11 villages of Son Trung commune, and thousands of people from Huong Son district attended and cheered them on.
Eleven teams from Son Trung commune participated in the banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cake) wrapping competition. Each team, consisting of three people, wrapped banh chung using pre-prepared ingredients. Within 20 minutes, each team had to complete wrapping five green banh chung.
Next, 11 women's teams from 11 villages participated in the tug-of-war competition.
The matches were lively and exciting.
Also this morning, 11 athletes from 11 villages participated in the stick-pushing competition.
The organizing committee presents awards for the banh chung wrapping contest.
At the end of the competition, in the rice cake wrapping contest: Mai Ha village team won first place, Hai Thuong village team won second place; in the men's stick pushing contest: first place went to athlete Trung (Ha Trang village), second place to athlete Nghia (Ha Trang village); in the women's tug-of-war contest: Yen Son village team won first place, Lam Thanh village team won second place. |
