At the announcement ceremony, on behalf of the Minister of Public Security, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang presented the decision of the Minister of Public Security regarding the transfer of Major General Pham The Tung, Director of the Nghe An Provincial Police, to the position of Director of the Internal Political Security Department.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed: Major General Pham The Tung is an officer with firm ideological stance, good moral character, and has risen through the ranks from the grassroots level… Major General Pham The Tung, together with the Party Committee and the leadership of the Provincial Police, has advised the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee, and the People's Committee of Nghe An province on many important issues in the field of state management of security and order, maintaining political security and social order, contributing to the cause of building and developing the economy and society in Nghe An province.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang requested Major General Pham The Tung to continuously strive, leverage his experience and intellect; uphold personal responsibility and the responsibility of the head; quickly grasp the work to lead and manage the Department and the leadership team of the Department of Internal Political Security to successfully fulfill the assigned tasks.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized: The Department of Internal Political Security is a particularly important unit, directly performing the functions of protecting the Party, protecting internal political security, cultural and ideological security, information and communication security, and managing the State's protection of State secrets. In the context of proactive, comprehensive, and deep international integration, hostile and reactionary forces are increasing their activities against the Party and the State with increasingly insidious and cunning methods and tactics, targeting internal affairs as their main attack direction; the risk of degeneration and self-transformation within the Party is increasing, threatening the survival of the Party and the regime. Therefore, the task of protecting internal political security is becoming increasingly demanding and urgent.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang requested that officers and soldiers of the Department of Internal Political Security, first and foremost the Party Committee and leadership of the Department, continue to unite, cooperate, and uphold responsibility together with Comrade Pham The Tung, Director, to maximize the tradition and spirit of dedication; always strive, overcome all difficulties and challenges to continue to excellently fulfill political tasks in the coming time.

In his acceptance speech for his new position, Major General Pham The Tung, Director of the Department of Internal Political Security, affirmed that he would uphold a high sense of responsibility, dedicating his efforts and intellect to working together with the Party Committee, the Department's leadership, and all officers and soldiers to overcome all difficulties; and to strive with the utmost determination to excellently fulfill all assigned tasks; continuing to enhance the glorious historical traditions of the People's Public Security in general, and the Internal Political Security force in particular, throughout the ages.

Major General Pham The Tung, 51 years old, hails from Tien Lu district, Hung Yen province. He previously held positions such as: Head of Khoai Chau District Police, Hung Yen; Deputy Director of Hung Yen Provincial Police; Director of Bac Ninh Provincial Police; and Director of Nghe An Provincial Police.
