Implementing the National Target Program well in Yen Xuan commune

On October 24th, the Hanoi Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions held a working session with the People's Committee of Yen Xuan commune regarding ethnic affairs and religious beliefs in 2025; and the results of implementing the National Target Program for socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030.

According to Phung Khac Son, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Xuan commune: In the first nine months of 2025, Yen Xuan commune has comprehensively implemented tasks and achieved results in all aspects of the economy and society in general, and in ethnic affairs, religion and beliefs in particular, especially maintaining stability in the area, fostering unity and cohesion among ethnic groups; and ensuring stable religious activities without the emergence of complex issues...

The commune has 6,382 households with 26,975 inhabitants, of which 3,938 are ethnic minority households, accounting for 61.7%. The commune no longer has any poor households, and there are 30 near-poor ethnic minority households.

Implementing projects under the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2025, Yen Xuan commune has been included in the investment plan for 46 projects with a total investment of 899,250 million VND. Disbursement results up to the end of 2024 reached 455,763 million VND; allocated capital for 2025 is 163,315 million VND. To date, the commune has completed and finalized accounts for 18 projects; completed and awaiting final settlement for 7 projects; is under construction for 11 projects; and is awaiting funding allocation for 10 projects. In addition to the 46 public investment projects, during the 2021-2025 period, the commune also implemented 3 projects funded by recurrent expenditure, which have been completed and are in the process of handover and commissioning.

During the meeting, representatives from the commune specifically outlined the difficulties and obstacles, pointed out shortcomings, and proposed solutions to overcome them, aiming to improve the effectiveness of ethnic and religious affairs, and socio-economic development, especially during the 2026-2030 period of the National Target Program.

Concluding the meeting, the Director of the Hanoi Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion, Nguyen Sy Truong, acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of Yen Xuan commune.

Comrade Nguyen Sy Truong suggested that the commune continue to strengthen leadership and guidance, review policy documents to ensure security and order and consolidate national unity; while promoting cultural values and focusing on building a dedicated team of officials.

Regarding socio-economic development, the commune needs to accelerate the disbursement of funds for 2025, inspect the quality of project works, and urgently review investment needs for the National Target Program for the period 2026-2030 so that the Department can promptly propose to the city to allocate funds.
