In 2024, Tien Giang province was assigned a target by the Prime Minister to recruit and enlist a large number of citizens into the People's Army and the People's Police.

The health, age, and educational qualifications of young people from Tien Giang province enlisting in the military are all higher than in previous years. Specifically, 68.5% are classified as health category 1 or 2; 78.4% are aged 18 to 21; 21.14% have technical or professional qualifications; 0.21% are Party members; and 99.79% are Youth Union members.
