On April 19th, the Hanoi Youth Union announced the list of 10 outstanding young people of Hanoi in 2023. Among them are two candidates in the field of academic research: Dr. Trinh Van Chien, lecturer at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and Dinh Cao Son, student at Hanoi University of Education.
Dr. Trinh Van Chien (born in 1989) is currently the Head of the Laboratory for Research on Computer Networks and Next-Generation Communication Technology at the School of Information Technology and Communications (Hanoi University of Science and Technology). He has published 51 scientific papers, 3 book chapters with prestigious international publishers, and 40 international conference papers; he also received an award from the European Union for his outstanding contributions to the 5G project.

This young lecturer also won the IEEE Wireless Communications Letters Exemplary Criticism Award (2016, 2017, 2021) and the Golden Globe Award in 2023.
Dinh Cao Son, a student at the University of Education, is a young man with outstanding academic achievements. Previously, this student from Ha Tinh province won first prize in the national excellent student competition in Chemistry in the 2022-2023 academic year; a Gold Medal at the 2023 International Chemistry Olympiad; was recognized as a "three-good student" at the provincial and national levels in 2023; was an exemplary figure in learning and creative work during the 2020-2023 period (Ha Tinh province); and received the Second Class Labor Medal.
Most recently, Dinh Cao Son was selected by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union as one of the 10 outstanding young Vietnamese figures of 2023.
In the field of academics and scientific research, there is also Master's degree holder and resident physician Duong Thi Tra Giang (born in 1992), Department of Normal Delivery, Quality Management Division (Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital). Dr. Giang has 5 international publications published in 2021, 2022, and 2023 in ISI/SCOPUS journals with high impact factors (IF).
The female doctor also won first prize in the field of Medicine and Pharmacy at the 1st Hanoi City Technical Innovation Competition (2022-2023), first prize at the 17th National Technical Innovation Competition (2022-2023); and first prize with the initiative "Emergency trolley for postpartum bleeding" at the 30th Hanoi City Youth Technical Innovation Competition in the medical sector (2023).

This year, the Hanoi Youth Union received 34 applications from candidates in the following fields: academics and scientific research; creative work and economic development; national defense and security; sports; culture and arts; and volunteering for community life.
After a review process, the Award Selection Council (comprising representatives from the Hanoi Youth Union, the Hanoi Department of Health, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the Hanoi City Emulation and Commendation Board, and the Hanoi City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department...) selected 18 outstanding applications and further chose 10 of the most exemplary individuals to receive the award.
This year, the ceremony honoring the 10 outstanding young people of Hanoi in 2023 is expected to be held on May 11th as part of the "Hanoi Youth Festival".

6. Nguyen Thien Kim (born in 2012), a student at Ngu Hiep Secondary School, Thanh Tri District, Hanoi.
7. Coach Tran Thi Thu Hoai (born 1993), Coach of Sepak Takraw, Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center.
8. Captain Nguyen Dinh Chieu (born 1989), a police officer at Xuan Tao Ward Police Station, Bac Tu Liem District.
9. Nguyen Quoc Hoang Anh (born 1990), multimedia artist; art curator; Founder of the "Up to the Mountains" project.
10. Nguyen Van Thanh (born 1996), Thanh Lam commune, Me Linh district, Hanoi.
