Destroyed more than 62,000 packs of smuggled cigarettes seized in Tay Ninh

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Authorities in Tay Ninh province have destroyed tens of thousands of packs of smuggled cigarettes that were seized during 2024.

On November 27th, the Steering Committee 389 of Tay Ninh province organized the destruction of over 62,000 packs of smuggled cigarettes that had been seized by authorities in the past period.

The confiscated and destroyed smuggled imported cigarettes included many brands. Among them, Hero, Jet, and 555 cigarettes accounted for over 54,000 packs.

These are confiscated items seized by market management forces, police, border guards, and the 389 Steering Committee of districts, towns, and cities in cases of illegal trading and transportation within the province in 2024.

The disposal was carried out at the waste treatment facility of Tay Ninh Environmental Technology Joint Stock Company, Tan Hung commune, Tan Chau district.

The destruction process was closely monitored by Tay Ninh provincial authorities and representatives of the Vietnam Tobacco Association in accordance with legal regulations.
