The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has just issued a bulletin on the strengthening cold front and a 10-day weather forecast for the whole country, from tonight, January 1, 2024, to January 11, 2024.

Accordingly, over the past 24 hours, a cold air mass has moved southward in the North.

Forecasts indicate that, on land, around dawn and throughout January 3rd, this cold air mass will affect the northeastern part of Northern Vietnam; subsequently, it will affect other areas in Northern and North Central Vietnam. Northeast winds inland will strengthen to level 3; coastal areas will experience winds of level 3-4.

In Northern Vietnam, Thanh Hoa , and Nghe An, the weather turned cold from January 3rd.

During this cold spell, the lowest temperatures in Northern Vietnam and Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces will generally range from 15-18 degrees Celsius, while in the mountainous areas of Northern Vietnam, temperatures will commonly be 12-14 degrees Celsius, with some high mountain areas experiencing temperatures below 8 degrees Celsius.

At sea, from morning and noon on January 3rd, the Gulf of Tonkin experienced increasingly strong northeasterly winds, reaching level 6, gusting to level 8, with waves 1.5-2.5m high and rough seas; in the northern South China Sea (including the waters around the Hoang Sa archipelago), the northeasterly winds were strong at level 6, sometimes reaching level 7, gusting to levels 8-9, with waves 2-4m high and very rough seas.

From the evening of January 3rd, the sea area from Ninh Thuan to Ca Mau, the area between the East Sea and the western part of the South China Sea (including the western sea area of ​​the Truong Sa archipelago) will experience increasingly strong northeasterly winds reaching level 6, gusting to levels 7-8, with waves 2-3 meters high and rough seas.

The meteorological agency warns that from December 3rd to 4th, Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh will experience rain, showers, and thunderstorms in some areas.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

In Northern Vietnam and North Central Vietnam, there will be scattered rain, with fog and light mist in the early morning, and sunny weather in the afternoon; scattered rain will begin from the night of January 2nd. In Northern Vietnam, it will be cold at night and in the early morning; it will be cold from January 3rd onwards.

The area from Quang Binh to Binh Dinh will experience scattered rain, with more widespread showers in the south; rain and showers are expected from January 3rd. The northern areas will be cold at night and in the morning, becoming even colder after night and early morning.

Other areas will experience scattered showers in the late afternoon and evening; sunny during the day, with some areas in the South experiencing hot weather.

In Northern Vietnam and North Central Vietnam, from January 7th to 8th, there will be rain, scattered light rain in the Northeast and North Central regions. It will be cold in the early morning and at night, especially on January 4th and 7th-8th.

The area from Quang Binh to Phu Yen will experience rain and showers on January 4th and during the period from January 7th to 9th.

Other areas will experience scattered showers in the late afternoon and evening; sunny during the day, with some areas in the South experiencing hot weather.
