News of cold air strengthening and 10-day weather forecast from the night of January 1

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has just issued a bulletin on increased cold air and weather forecast for the next 10 days, from tonight, January 1, 2024 to January 11, 2024, for the whole country.

Accordingly, in the past 24 hours, a cold air mass has moved south from the North.

It is forecasted that on land, around early morning and on January 3, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast region of the North; then affect other places in the North and North Central regions. The Northeast wind inland will strengthen to level 3; coastal areas level 3-4.

In the North, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An from January 3rd the weather will turn cold.

During this cold air mass, the lowest temperature in the North and Thanh Hoa and Nghe An is generally from 15-18 degrees Celsius, in the mountainous areas of the North it is generally 12-14 degrees Celsius, in the high mountainous areas it is below 8 degrees Celsius in some places.

At sea, from the morning and noon of January 3, the Northeast wind in the Gulf of Tonkin gradually increased to level 6, gusting to level 8, waves 1.5-2.5m high, rough seas; in the North East Sea (including the waters of Hoang Sa archipelago), the Northeast wind was strong at level 6, later at times at level 7, gusting to level 8-9, waves 2-4m high, rough seas.

From the evening of January 3, the sea area from Ninh Thuan to Ca Mau , the area between the East Sea and the western sea area of the South East Sea (including the western sea area of Truong Sa archipelago) will have northeast winds gradually increasing to level 6, gusting to level 7-8, waves 2-3m high, rough seas.

The meteorological agency warns that from December 3-4, Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh will have rain, showers and thunderstorms in some places.

Thunderstorms may contain tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds.

Weather forecast for the regions in the next 24 to 48 hours

Northern and North Central regions have rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog, sunny afternoon; from the night of January 2, scattered rain. Northern regions have cold nights and early mornings; from January 3, cold weather.

From Quang Binh to Binh Dinh, there will be rain in some places, especially in the South, there will be scattered rain and showers; from January 3, there will be rain and showers. In the North, it will be cold at night and in the morning, and cold later at night and in the early morning.

Other areas have scattered showers in the evening and at night; sunny during the day, except in the South where there are some hot spots.

Weather forecast from night of January 3, 2024 to January 11, 2024

Northern and North Central regions from January 7-8, the Northeast and North Central regions will have scattered rain and light rain. Early mornings and nights will be cold, especially on January 4 and January 7-8.

The area from Quang Binh to Phu Yen on January 4 and the period from January 7 to 9 will have rain and showers.

Other areas have scattered showers in the evening and at night; sunny during the day, except in the South where there are some hot spots.
