Heavy rain news from the night of December 1 and weather forecast for the next 10 days

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a bulletin forecasting heavy rainfall in Central Vietnam and a 10-day weather forecast for the whole country, from the night of December 1st to December 11th.

Accordingly, last night and today (December 1st), moderate to heavy rain, and locally very heavy rain, fell in the area from southern Nghe An to Quang Ngai. Rainfall amounts from 7 PM on November 30th to 3 PM on December 1st exceeded 140mm in some places, such as: Cho Trang (Nghe An) 142.0mm, Do Diem (Ha Tinh) 292.8mm, Le Thuy ( Quang Binh ) 163.4mm, Ta Long (Quang Tri) 157.2mm, Rao Trang 4 Hydropower Dam (Thua Thien Hue) 149.2mm…

Forecasts indicate that from the afternoon of December 1st to the evening of December 3rd, Quang Tri and the area from Binh Dinh to Khanh Hoa will experience moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain and thunderstorms, with rainfall amounts generally ranging from 70-150mm, and some areas exceeding 200mm; the area from Thua Thien Hue to Quang Ngai will experience heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall amounts generally ranging from 100-300mm, and some areas exceeding 350mm.

From the night of December 3rd, heavy rain in these areas gradually decreased.

Additionally, from the afternoon of December 1st and throughout December 2nd, moderate to heavy rain is expected in Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces, with rainfall amounts generally ranging from 20-40mm, and exceeding 70mm in some areas; showers and thunderstorms are expected in the eastern part of the Central Highlands, with localized heavy rain, with rainfall amounts ranging from 10-30mm, and exceeding 50mm in some areas.

Due to the impact of heavy rain, people need to be wary of the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and flooding of rice paddies and crops in low-lying areas; be prepared for heavy rainfall in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.

Northern Vietnam, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An: scattered rain; especially on the night of December 1st and early morning of December 2nd, there will be scattered rain and light rain in the northeastern part of Northern Vietnam, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An. Cold weather, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold.

The area from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa will experience moderate to heavy rain, with some places experiencing very heavy rain.

The Central Highlands region will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms; the eastern part of the Central Highlands will have rain, showers and thunderstorms, with localized heavy rain.

Other areas will have sunny days, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening; particularly in the South, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.

Weather forecast for various regions from the night of December 3rd to December 11th.

Northern Vietnam, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An will experience scattered rain from December 7th onwards, with sunny weather in the afternoon. It will be cold at night and in the morning.

The area from Ha Tinh to Quang Binh will experience scattered showers from the night of December 3-4 and from the night of December 6-7, with some areas experiencing moderate to heavy rain.

The area from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa will experience rain, moderate rain, and locally heavy rain on the night of December 3rd. On December 4th and from December 6th to 7th, there will be scattered rain and showers.

In Southern Vietnam on December 6-7, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.
