On August 16, 2024, in Hanoi, the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam met to consider and give opinions on personnel matters as follows: 1. The Central Committee decided to nominate and give opinions for the Politburo to nominate personnel to consolidate the leadership of a number of state agencies for the 2021-2026 term according to regulations. 2. The Central Committee elected Comrade General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Public Security Ministry, and Minister of Public Security, as an additional member of the Politburo; and elected three additional members to the Secretariat: Comrade Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Member of the Central Committee, Chief of the Central Party Office; Comrade General Trinh Van Quyet, Member of the Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, and Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army; Comrade Le Minh Tri, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Director of the Supreme People's Procuratorate .
