Two students have just been inducted into the prestigious ISEF honor roll: Nguyen Le Quoc Bao (12CA class) and Le Tuan Hy (12B class, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted).
These students are the authors of the project "Deep learning integrated software for partitioning and reconstructing monolithic heart structures in 3D simulated space for medical practice applications".

Recognizing and commending the outstanding achievements of the students and teachers of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City decided to award certificates of merit from the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to the two students and Mr. Do Quoc Minh Triet, the teacher who directly guided the award-winning project.
Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of the Office of the Department of Education and Training and Head of the Ho Chi Minh City delegation to the competition, said that the delegation encountered many problems with paperwork before the competition. However, the two students confidently demonstrated their abilities on the international stage, bringing about a proud achievement.
Leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Department of Education and Training congratulated the two award-winning students and their supervising teacher.
At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung stated that this achievement not only affirms the students' efforts in their studies and the school's investment in teaching, but also reflects the continuous innovation of the education sector in creating an environment for students to research, study, and gain practical experience.

"Over the years, the scientific research movement has been regularly and systematically organized by management agencies from the ministerial and departmental levels to the local level, aiming to innovate teaching methods and help students apply their learned knowledge to practice. To maintain and expand the achievements already made, the education sector will continue to strive to promote the scientific research movement in secondary schools," said Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.

Nguyen Le Quoc Bao shared: "I participated in the competition with the mindset of exchanging ideas and learning, and at the same time introducing to international friends more about the efforts of Vietnamese students." Quoc Bao believes that the competition is a stepping stone to help him better understand his strengths, weaknesses, and passions, thereby creating a better development plan for the future.
Le Tuan Hy expressed his pride in his achievements. He hopes that Vietnamese students will have more opportunities to participate in international competitions in the future.
ISEF is the largest annual international science and engineering competition for high school students. ISEF 2024 will take place from May 11th to 17th in Los Angeles, California, USA. This year's competition will feature students from 67 countries with 1,353 projects.
The Vietnamese delegation consists of 17 students with 9 projects participating in ISEF 2024, selected from 149 projects participating in the 2023-2024 National Science and Technology Competition for High School Students.
The delegation from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training included two students from Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted with one project.
