Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai: More than VND 1,125 billion in government gifts paid through banks

Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai: More than VND 1,125 billion in government gifts paid through banks

On September 1, Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh, Deputy Director of the State Bank of Region 2, said that as of the end of the afternoon of September 1, 2025, the Southeast region alone (including Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai ) had paid 1,125 billion VND to give to households and individuals. Of which, Ho Chi Minh City had spent about 780 billion VND.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh, this activity has many meanings. In addition to the responsibility of performing well the work of giving gifts to the Government , a number of credit institutions have combined to implement solutions to expand cashless payments, with creative, suitable and humane products: such as giving smartphones to the poor; giving gifts and rewards when opening accounts and using services combined with the VneID application on social security payments....

“From the perspective of operations and service development, it will create conditions for people to use account services. From the management perspective, this activity has great significance in contributing to popularizing and popularizing the use of public services through the application of National Electronic Identification (VneID) by people, thereby contributing significantly to the effective implementation of management activities according to the 2-level local government model,” said Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh.
