Implementing solutions to ensure food safety in the durian crop in 2025

Dak Lak's durian crop in 2025 will start its main harvest from mid-August 2025. To ensure quality for domestic consumption and export, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has issued a document requesting units, localities and enterprises to urgently deploy many synchronous solutions in production and processing.

Accordingly, the People's Committees of wards and communes with durian growing areas and purchasing, preliminary processing, processing and packaging facilities in the area are assigned the task of proactively disseminating, periodically inspecting and monitoring the growing areas and packaging facilities that have been granted codes, ensuring that the technical requirements of the importing country are always maintained.

For growing areas without codes, people are advised to produce according to sustainable durian processes and actively participate in implementing growing area codes and packaging codes. At the same time, coordinate with specialized agencies at higher levels to strengthen inspection and handling of violations in production, purchasing and processing.

For facilities that purchase, process, prepare and package durian, they must comply with food safety regulations, absolutely not use banned chemicals or chemicals not on the list during the process of preparing, processing and packaging durian, and ensure traceability according to regulations.

To serve the purchasing and processing activities of the 2025 crop, facilities must conduct general cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of factories, warehouses and means of transport. Reports confirming that the warehouses no longer have any residue of yellow O must be sent to the Department of Agriculture and Environment before July 25, 2025 and must be closely monitored by competent agencies and local authorities...

The Dak Lak Durian Association needs to actively support the formation and development of sustainable linkage chains in durian production - processing - consumption - export; provide guidance on cultivation techniques to minimize Cadmium residue (do not use fertilizers/pesticides containing Cadmium, increase organic matter, treat contaminated soil); organize training on yellow cell treatment, take samples for quality analysis; take the lead in building the Dak Lak durian brand...
