China surpasses the US to become the world's largest AI market

With over 500 million users and doubling in just six months, China has officially become the largest artificial AI market on the planet.

China has just reached a historic milestone of having 515 million AI users by June 2025, doubling in just half a year.

According to the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), 36.5% of the country's internet population has used AI thanks to the “AI Plus” strategy of integrating technology into all fields.

Notably, 74.6% of users are under 40 years old and 37.5% have a college degree, making the younger generation the vanguard of the AI ​​wave.

About 90% of users choose domestic platforms such as DeepSeek, Alibaba Cloud's Qwen and ByteDance's Doubao.

Zhang Xiao, deputy director of CNNIC, affirmed that China will continue to invest in open-source AI and AI governance to strengthen technological autonomy.

The launch of the DeepSeek R1 model in early 2025 helped China increase its user rate sharply, while the US maintained a stable 25%.

The report also showed that China has filed more than 1.57 million AI patents, accounting for nearly 39% globally.

With its huge user base and strong support policies, China is reshaping the world 's technological power map.
