Foreign exchange rates on January 6, 2024: USD slightly increased, Yuan sharply decreased

DNVN - On January 6, the exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong (VND) and the US Dollar (USD) recorded a slight increase, while the Chinese Yuan (CNY) continued to decrease sharply.

The State Bank announced the central exchange rate at 24,337 VND/USD, up 3 VND compared to January 3. The +/-5% amplitude of this exchange rate sets the ceiling at 25,554 VND/USD and the floor at 23,120 VND/USD. The reference exchange rate at the State Bank's Exchange remains unchanged, maintained at 23,400 - 25,450 VND/USD (buy - sell).

At 8:31 a.m., commercial banks recorded a 3 VND increase in the USD exchange rate in both directions. Specifically, Vietcombank and BIDV both listed the USD exchange rate at 25,253 - 25,553 VND/USD (buy - sell).

Regarding the CNY, Vietcombank listed the exchange rate at 3,418 - 3,528 VND/CNY (buy - sell), down 15 VND compared to January 3. BIDV also recorded a similar decrease, when the CNY exchange rate decreased by 10 VND, down to 3,437 - 3,533 VND/CNY (buy - sell).
