Vingroup collaborates with Telangana State to expand its multi-sector ecosystem in India.

Vingroup recently announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Telangana State (India) at the Telangana Rising Global Summit, proposing an investment of approximately US$3 billion in phases to develop a multi-sector ecosystem in Telangana State. This agreement marks the beginning of a strategic investment plan in key sectors in the locality, and signifies a significant milestone in Vingroup's journey to international expansion, affirming the stature and capabilities of Vietnamese businesses on the global economic map.

According to the MOU, the two sides will jointly study strategic cooperation opportunities in various fields such as smart cities, manufacturing, healthcare, education , tourism, renewable energy, and charging station infrastructure across a total area of ​​approximately 2,500 hectares in Telangana, in addition to green taxi services.

Specifically, in the field of green transportation, Vingroup proposes implementation in Telangana state. The SM Green electric taxi model is the first large-scale model in India, incorporating a smart mobility service platform. Simultaneously, the Group may also explore potential opportunities related to future electric vehicle manufacturing initiatives.

In the field of urban development, Vingroup aims to build a smart, sustainable mega-city on a scale of 1,080 hectares, providing housing for approximately 200,000 residents. The project is expected to create around 10,000 jobs and will include low-rise and high-rise housing, and a world-class "all-in-one" amenities system.

In the field of social infrastructure, the Group proposes developing essential facilities on an estimated land area of ​​approximately 70 hectares, including Vinschool multi-level schools, Vinmec international general hospital, and the V-Green electric vehicle charging station network.

In the tourism and entertainment sector, Vingroup, through VinWonders, aims to build a complex of theme parks, zoos, and semi-wild animal conservation areas (safari) on an area of ​​approximately 350 hectares, contributing to the development of Telangana's tourism infrastructure and creating numerous jobs in the locality.

In the renewable energy sector, Vingroup, through VinEnergo, has proposed investing in a 500 MW solar power project covering approximately 485 hectares, providing a stable source of green electricity for urban areas, industrial zones, and the entire electrified transportation ecosystem.

In addition to the above items, Vingroup also proposed participating in the development of strategic connecting infrastructure routes to strengthen regional connectivity and enhance urban spatial development capacity.

On the government side, Telangana is committed to supporting the search for and allocation of suitable land for each project, coordinating in the overall planning and project structure, resolving procedures, and mobilizing relevant agencies to prepare the necessary connecting infrastructure. The state government will also consider applying incentives under current policies and working alongside Vingroup in the research and implementation process to ensure the progress and effectiveness of the collaborative projects.

The MOU with Telangana is a crucial foundation for Vingroup to realize large-scale investment projects, directly contributing to Telangana's economic growth and strengthening the presence of Vietnamese businesses in the international market. At the same time, cooperation between Vingroup and Telangana also contributes to strengthening Vietnam-India economic relations, promoting connections between the business communities of the two countries, and opening up opportunities for deeper cooperation in the future.

This is not just capital, but a partnership to build a city of the future, achieving net-zero emissions and deploying India’s first large-scale electric taxi fleet, thereby directly improving the quality of life for our people. The state government is committed to accelerating the implementation to ensure this global vision becomes a reality locally as soon as possible.”

Sridhar Babu , Minister of Industry, Telangana State Government, stated: “Vingroup’s commitment to diversified investments, spanning from smart cities and solar power to advanced social infrastructure such as hospitals and schools, demonstrates the stability and depth of Telangana’s industrial policy. We are committed to transforming this significant investment into local development opportunities, thereby making Telangana a gateway for investment from Vietnam and Southeast Asia into India’s fastest-growing economy.”

With the Group’s extensive experience and capacity to implement large-scale projects, we are confident that the cooperation between the two sides will mark a significant step forward, contributing to the creation of a modern, sustainable urban space and improving the quality of life for the people of Telangana .”
