This is an opportunity to honor and express gratitude to dedicated and creative groups and individuals who have contributed to the strong spread of the Capital's humanitarian movement over the past 5 years with the spirit of "For everyone, everywhere".

Flowers of kindness in everyday life

From the grassroots levels, 80 typical advanced examples were honored at the conference, vividly demonstrating the vitality of the humanitarian movement in the city. Each person has a job, a situation, but they all have a common bright spot - that is, a passionate heart, a spirit of sharing and silent dedication to the community.

A typical example is Ms. Nguyen Thu Phong, former President of the Red Cross Society of Hai Ba Trung District (old). During the period 2020-2025, she and the Society effectively organized many humanitarian activities, promptly supported thousands of people in difficulty, contributing to building the image of a dedicated, creative, and grassroots Red Cross officer.

Or Ms. Thieu Thuy Ve, former President of the Red Cross Society of Nam Tu Liem District (old), is a person who always innovates ways of working, mobilizing many social resources to care for the disadvantaged and children in special circumstances. Under her leadership, the movements "Tet for the poor", "Tet Charity", "Nutrition for poor and disabled children", "Safety for poor and disadvantaged fishermen"... every year of the Nam Tu Liem Red Cross Society are widely deployed, bringing practical results.

It is also the story of Ms. Nguyen Thi Dong, former President of the Red Cross Society of Vinh Tuy Ward, affectionately called by her colleagues as “the keeper of the fire of charity”. During her term, she worked day and night to mobilize people, businesses, and philanthropists to participate in volunteer activities, creating a widespread humanitarian network, helping hundreds of households overcome difficulties.

Not only veteran association officials, young groups and volunteers also play an important role in promoting the humanitarian movement. Many creative models such as “Zero-VND Market”, “Kitchen of Love”, “Humanitarian Booth” have been replicated in many localities, becoming a support for workers, the poor and patients in difficult circumstances.

Those simple examples not only bring material value, but also arouse the spirit of sharing and compassion - the source of all beautiful actions in today's society.

5-year mark of the Capital's humanitarian movement

Speaking at the conference, Vice President of the Hanoi Red Cross Society Duong Thi Hang said that over the past 5 years, the work of the Society and the Red Cross movement in Hanoi city has developed steadily in both scale and depth. Responding to patriotic emulation movements, the city's Red Cross Society has materialized a series of practical activities, targeting people and disadvantaged communities.

The movement “The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas” has been widely deployed, associated with the program of building and repairing 791 Red Cross houses with a total value of over 26 billion VND. The program “Cow Bank” - a typical initiative of the Association - has donated 338 breeding cows and breeding cows to poor and disadvantaged households with a total value of over 5.4 billion VND, helping many families have a stable livelihood and escape poverty.

In addition, the annual "Humanitarian Month" movement has supported over 257,000 people with a value of over 102 billion VND, while the campaign "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian address" has assisted over 10,000 difficult cases with a total value of 22 billion VND.

The "Humane Tet" movement alone - a typical activity of the Association every time Tet comes - has given gifts to more than 670 thousand people with a total value of more than 323 billion VND, contributing to spreading the message "Tet leaves no one behind".

Not only providing material support, voluntary blood donation activities, community health care, emergency relief, disaster response, etc. are regularly deployed, demonstrating the core role of the Capital Red Cross Society in the social security system.

Summarizing the emulation movement and reward work for 5 years (2020 - 2025), Vice President of Hanoi Red Cross Society Dinh Thi Phuc emphasized: Over the past 5 years, emulation and reward work has always been carried out methodically and promptly, encouraging the spirit of cadres, members and volunteers. The emulation movement of Hanoi Red Cross Society continues to develop in all areas of the Society's activities. The total value of humanitarian and social activities of the City Red Cross Society in 5 years reached over 1,714 billion VND.

The organization of the Association is regularly strengthened and improved from the city to the grassroots. The quantity and quality of cadres, members, youth, and Red Cross volunteers are increasingly improved. Many models are maintained, expanded, and developed such as: Free meals for poor patients at hospitals; Red Cross family model, first aid station; blood donation street... many shining examples in humanitarian activities contribute to motivating and encouraging people of all walks of life to be good, becoming beautiful features in community life.

On this occasion, the City Red Cross launched an emulation movement for the 2025-2030 period, aiming to continue to innovate and improve the effectiveness of humanitarian work in the new situation, building an increasingly strong, professional, modern and closer-to-the-people organization. In particular, the Association will prioritize the development of resources, improve the capacity of its members, mobilize and build a qualified humanitarian fund to provide timely, regular and unexpected assistance; actively participate in disaster prevention and response; community-based health care for the people; voluntary blood donation movement...

The 2020-2025 exemplary conference is not only an opportunity to summarize and honor outstanding examples, but also an opportunity for the Hanoi Red Cross to affirm its position and role in the humanitarian work of the capital. Each exemplary example is a "red seed" spreading kindness, arousing the spirit of solidarity and mutual love in the community.

Promoting the tradition of "Wherever there is need, there is the Red Cross", the Red Cross at all levels will continue to make efforts to innovate activities, promote digital transformation, strengthen connections with social resources, and coordinate with departments, branches, organizations, and businesses to effectively implement programs for the poor and disadvantaged.

With a vibrant emulation platform, many creative models, and many dedicated individuals, the Hanoi Red Cross is continuing its new journey of charity - where volunteer hearts beat together for a civilized, compassionate, and humane capital.
