Regarding the incident of a dentist assaulting a customer, following a surprise inspection of Tuyet Chinh Dental Clinic at 49 Tran Thi Nghi Street, Hanh Thong Ward, and the discovery of numerous violations, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has decided to temporarily suspend the facility's operations.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, following the viral social media video of a person in a white lab coat assaulting a customer, the Department conducted a surprise inspection of Tuyet Chinh Dental Clinic at 49 Tran Thi Nghi Street, Hanh Thong Ward, on the afternoon of September 8th.
At the time of inspection, the establishment provided a Business Registration Certificate issued by the Department of Planning and Investment of Ho Chi Minh City to Tuyet Chinh Dental Company Limited, first registered on June 15, 2022, and Business Registration Certificate No. 41M8032542 dated October 27, 2016, issued by the People's Committee of Go Vap District (formerly) for Tuyet Chinh Dental Household.
Also at this address, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health issued License No. 07501/HCM-GPHD dated April 24, 2019, for the Dental and Maxillofacial Clinic under the Tuyet Chinh Dental Business Household, with Dr. NTTC in charge of technical expertise.
The inspection team noted numerous violations at the clinic, including: failing to meet one of the conditions regarding facilities after being granted a license to operate medical examination and treatment services; providing medical examination and treatment services beyond the scope of expertise stated in the medical examination and treatment license; failing to create patient records and medical charts according to the legally prescribed mẫu; and advertising medical examination and treatment services outside the scope of professional activities stated in the medical examination and treatment license.
The inspection team noted that three staff members were practicing medicine at the clinic but were unable to provide their medical practice licenses.
In his explanation to the representative of the Department of Health, Dr. NTTC stated that since 2021, female patient NTTT had been coming to the clinic for orthodontic treatment. However, due to dissatisfaction with the treatment results, she posted the information on Facebook and came to the clinic demanding a refund of the treatment fees she had paid.
On the afternoon of September 3rd, Ms. NTTT came to the clinic to discuss her dissatisfaction with the results of her orthodontic treatment. An argument ensued, leading to the incident described above. The image circulating on social media showing the person in the white lab coat assaulting the patient is Dr. NTTC.
According to Ms. NTTT, after about two years of wearing braces at Tuyet Chinh Dental Clinic, she felt her teeth were tilting inward more, so she went to another dental clinic for a check-up and was diagnosed with bone loss, requiring the braces to be removed soon.
In August 2025, Ms. NTTT had her braces removed at Tuyet Chinh Dental Clinic, but since then, her teeth have tilted inward, resulting in an unsightly appearance. After repeatedly contacting the owner of Tuyet Chinh Dental Clinic about the issue, Ms. NTTT has still not received a response.
On the afternoon of September 3rd, Ms. NTTT and a friend went to Tuyet Chinh Dental Clinic to request a meeting with the owner to discuss treatment options. After an argument, the incident shown in the video clip circulating on social media occurred.
The Hanh Thong Ward Police are investigating and gathering evidence regarding the incident.
On the afternoon of September 8th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health decided to temporarily suspend the clinic's operations, clarify the violations, and handle them strictly according to regulations.
The Department of Health advises people to carefully check information when choosing a place for medical examination and to look up necessary information about clinics at the "Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health's Medical and Pharmaceutical Practice Lookup Portal" (https://tracuu.medinet.org.vn).
