New information about the 151 billion VND auction to rent Thuy Ta restaurant appears

On November 30th, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee sent a document to the Da Lat City People's Committee, which included the opinion of the Department of Finance that the results of the auction for the 10-year lease of the house and land use rights for Thuy Ta Restaurant (Ward 1, Da Lat City) could not yet be canceled.

According to the Lam Dong Department of Finance, Mr. Doan Hai Ha (residing in Hanoi , the winning bidder) had previously sent a written notice stating that he would not invest in the Thuy Ta restaurant. Therefore, the Da Lat City People's Committee requested the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee to cancel the auction results.

However, after reviewing and comparing the regulations, the Department of Finance concluded that the decision to cancel the auction results can only be issued in cases where there is an agreement between the winning bidder, the auction organization, and the owner of the auctioned property.

In the second case, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has the right to cancel the auction results if, after 90 days from the date the Provincial People's Committee approved the results, the winning bidder fails to pay or fails to pay the full winning bid amount.

Previously, Dan Tri newspaper reported that on October 30th, the Da Lat City People's Committee auctioned off the land plot of Thuy Ta restaurant with a starting price of over 3 billion VND per year. After 63 bidding increments, Mr. Doan Hai Ha won the auction for the Thuy Ta restaurant area at a price of 15 billion VND per year, equivalent to over 151 billion VND over 10 years.

Mr. Ha was required to pay the entire land lease and property value in one lump sum. He also deposited over 600 million VND to participate in the auction on October 30th. However, on November 21st, Mr. Doan Hai Ha submitted a notice stating that he would not invest because he was not allowed to change the restaurant's name.

The winning bidder's notice stated: "To ensure the investment, on November 3rd, I submitted an application to the Da Lat City People's Committee and the Auction Service Center to request feedback on the preliminary business plan and confirmation of changing the name of Thuy Ta Restaurant to HV Restaurant in the business plan, but I have not yet received a response. Due to this discrepancy, I would like to announce that I will no longer invest in Thuy Ta Restaurant."
